My Father's Gift (Short Story) - 8/6/2004 1:46:40 PM
Wow. All I can say is wow. I am so happy to hear words like these, to know someone trully appreciates and does not take for granted the greatness of their father. I have regrets. My regret is that I did take mine for granted and now I'll never get the chance to "take care of him, listen to his problems, help him financially, or in some way, ease his burdens and responsibilities" as you will. Every day of life is a blessing. Cherish it! Much love to you and your Daddy! :-) April

Have You Prepared Your Child For The School Bully? (Article) - 1/16/2010 3:09:53 PM

My Son's Teacher was a Bully (Article) - 1/23/2006 1:27:26 PM

My Son's Teacher was a Bully (Article) - 1/19/2005 3:51:24 PM
I had a problem with a teacher in my daughter's fifth grade class. She belittled my child and made her out to be a liar to the principal. My husband worked in law enforcement and taped her one day during class. Another friend of his had a daughter in the same class. We took it to the prinicpal and the school superindtendent. They offered her a choice to be transferred or to find another job. I feel sorry for people who have no real way of defending their children against this type of teacher.

My Son's Teacher was a Bully (Article) - 1/19/2005 3:40:11 PM
children should not be bullied by anyone, sez this old teacher.

My Son's Teacher was a Bully (Article) - 1/19/2005 3:36:22 PM
Good article. Brings back terrible memories of my teachers; they were no different and in fact worse! Huge generalisation here - as I grew up I realised that those who become teachers do so not because of a geniune interest in teaching or in the case of small children, a genunie interest in children. They choose teaching because there is really nothing else they can do!Frustrated, they begin to hate the job and in time the anger is taken out on the most influential people - our children!

My Son's Teacher was a Bully (Article) - 1/19/2005 1:40:53 PM
excellent and much needed article, patricia! i had one teacher who was a bully, but i just did as she instructed, but i still didn't like her after that. (she was a gym teacher too.) sad when teachers think they are god and they push the kids to the edge; no wonder so many kids are screwed up mentally nowadays... (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in tx., karen lynn. :(

My Son's Teacher was a Bully (Article) - 1/19/2005 1:25:06 PM
This is an excellent that should concern every parent. I never personally had a teacher that was a bully, but i had friends who did and their parents never believed them. I'd also like to thank you for the advice on how to deal with these types of teachers.

Someone Stole Our Book (Article) - 11/8/2004 1:44:51 PM
I have had people try to steal my book and the royalties and then some think I should just give it to them. I noticed the same ones wanted me to buy from them. You should go get the book back nicely but get it back. The mother has taught her son one thing that it is okay to steal.

The Shoemaker and the Brat (Article) - 10/31/2004 4:38:21 AM
My mother has taught me many of these same types of lessons over the years. Thank you for sharing this memory with us Patricia. Debbie

You Make Me Sick and other things Parents Say in Anger (Article) - 9/20/2004 3:57:31 PM
(((Patricia))) Ohhhhhhhhh, the memories this one brought back...I heard many of these growing up. Karen (above, twin sister) covered the main words that made us feel totally worthless and unloved. It is a daily battle to overcome, but when I fail to accomplish something, it's just as well...I'll always be destined to be a loser, a user and an abuser (my oldest sister said that beauty to me, the day after we'd buried mom. Oh, and that I was my mom's least favorite child...). Words do hurt--just thinking about them, my gut is clenched and tears are filling up my eyes and threatening to spill. Parents need to learn to control their words--words hurt as bad, if not more than, fists or an object...and the scars last much longer... Strongly written, emotional rollercoaster for those who've experienced abuse, but needed message. Thank you--you may have saved a child's life. (((HUGS))) and love, Karla. *tears*

You Make Me Sick and other things Parents Say in Anger (Article) - 9/20/2004 3:50:10 PM
I have heard my own parents say things like that to me ("You make me sick!", "Get outta' my sight!", "You're not going to amount to anything in life!", and more), and years later, I still feel the sting of those words. People don't realize what they say may stick with a child for life; and I have been damaged by those words. I have had a very low self esteem about myself, but I am working to overcome the pain by writing or by talking about it. I have also heard parents call their kids "Losers", "Motherf'ers", and worse; and it breaks my heart to hear parents talking about their kids like that. It's no wonder kids have problems nowadays because parents no longer take a responsibility in teaching them right from wrong, and they have all but removed discipline from homes and schools; and kids, as a result, are now spoiled, uncontrollable brats! A timely (and much needed) article; thanks for sharing, Patricia! (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx. (who has been on the receivin' end of this abuse; to me, emotional and mental abuse is just as bad as the physical, if not worse!), Karen Lynn. :( >tears <

Awareness (Poetry) - 5/10/2013 7:13:13 AM
I'm saddened to see that your poems seemed to come to a halt in 2004. It seems to me that you are serving the children, making an impression and an impact on them with your honesty and love. I want to look up your "Joyful Productions" site because I too am impressed with your bio and what you are trying to accomplish. Sincerely, Connie

Be Kind (Poetry) - 2/20/2013 7:35:00 PM
Patricia, This is a poem that should be put up in schools and should be read by one and all. There is so much bullying, kids are committing suicide because they just can't take it anymore. Thank you for writing and sharing. Many blessings, Linda+

Be Kind (Poetry) - 7/31/2007 8:07:49 AM
Inspiring............... Parents should teach this to their children. You never know the future of who you are lifting up, praising, teasing or putting down. They could become our next president, a future leader or the next serial killer, rapist or terrorist. Bring Joy to the world and the world will be Joyful!

Layers (Poetry) - 7/31/2007 7:56:14 AM
Great Poem Patty, I only wish the world would think about all of this. God is the way, the truth and the life. So many people hurting, suffering and not living the life we were meant to live. Find joy and happiness wherever you are. Success is not found in what we own, but who's life we touch. We are all special, look at the talents God gave you and use them. Choose Joy and you will always be happy.......Cindy

I'm so glad you're not afraid to call it what it is 'bullying'. One cannot believe how violent children can get when they single out another child...
