Looks interesting. Though I've only been there twice, I'm a big lover of the Keys and love stories set there. I look forward to reading the full book.

Keep writing, with your talent for words you will see and people will buy them. I never been to a book signing, but would love to go to one sometime in my lifetime. Have author Friend from my past hometown Bonnie May who wrote books and went to book signing in Colo. She did well and has said she will write no more books, but we do not believe her. She likes to write too well to end it. Her books are great.

I read this with a smile- you write so lucidly that I could see you sitting in that Barnes and Noble! : D
I've never signed books before, but we've all been bitten by the jitter bug at one time or other. With writing this GREAT, though, you've got nothing to be nervous about April.

I love this--"...at my table is a buyer...but they bought Harry Potter"
I can definitely identify with this, as my first book signing is at the end of this month. At least you have some under your belt! Making the connection is the hard part, but I guess it's good for us, isn't it?? (We'll see...)
Hang in there and best wishes to you, April.

It's an important message, one that I've never forgotten as a mother.
Kids Are People, Too (Poetry) - 9/14/2007 7:48:16 PM
I loved the viewpoint of this poem. I hope it makes us all stop and think and remember that children are little people trying to grow up. It wasn't always easy, was it? An understanding heart and a patient manner will go a long way. And, oh, how it's worth it when they see you're really interested in what they have to say. To touch another person is wonderful. To touch a child is magical!
Well done, April.

Hi! April, I read "Kids Are People, Too" I do believe that alot of adults do forget that truth. Perhaps ,if we treated them so, they would be more well adjusted adults in the future. Best wishes. Please feel free to visit my site atwww.freewebs.com or here in the "Den"
Kids Are People, Too (Poetry) - 5/18/2007 12:28:26 PM
Yes, Kids are people too. Thank goodness I had some patience back when. I even had some when they were teenagers and I think that is how we made it through the rough times. I listened also to what they weren't saying but showing. My oldest daughter thought she was too old for a hug. Now she knows different as she hugs her own infant. And I see that patience where once there was none. I love the visions that your poem brought up for me. continuity is wonderful and that is some of what I got from this poem.

Such a true write my friend! Children are people too and deserve to be given respect and love. Words are powerful, they can hurt and pierce one in such a way that the hurt lasts longer than an actual wound. Very powerful write my friend! Glad I stopped by you've touched this mother, grandmother, and first grade teachers heart.
