The Common Man (Poetry) - 7/1/2012 8:56:39 AM
Nice job - gives an outsider a sharp insight into your fears and anger. Your words are not so deadly as real bullets but they do pierce and shame us. We will probably never be able to admit that, thus never be able to change it. Keep writing ...

I love this poem. Success is not measured by what you have, but what you are doing, living, dreaming, and have overcome.

hi Vaughn, I just chose your name randomly from the list since your last name was close to my first name Ankin and I am impressed. I love this poem, everything you said is true and I never thought that way. The power of One is so great that it touched my hert profoundly. Stay well and good luck, Ankin

Vaughn, That is really a good poem! It is too bad other people give in to those things so easily. It takes a strong person to stand up and say they won't give in to those types of things. God Bless You Sincerely, Lori Reed

The Common Man (Poetry) - 2/16/2008 1:45:35 PM
This is my first time reading your work. You are a Writer with a soul which cries out that someone listen. You are a man of depth and passion. Sadly the laws of our country have failed certain ones in our society. Cultures and greed have forgotten the common man. Death today comes in the night in the day. Just a name forgotten. Continue to write with power. Open the eyes and hearts of your readers. Touching piece of work.

My Soul is not for Sale! (Poetry) - 10/2/2007 4:32:01 PM
If more people had the integrity, the strength to answer "my soul is not for sale", the whole world would change. I am not an idealist, I am a realist: if we are not overcome by fear, the world will really change. Very insightful and well-crafted piece of writing! Greetings, Axilea

The Common Man (Poetry) - 9/18/2005 8:53:27 AM
THE COMMON MAN is a powerfully rendered statement that is perhaps particularly relevant at this time in light of what the devastation along the Gulf Coast has revealed about the ignored plight of the poor in this country. Those who don't have to think about it obviously prefer not to, but as your words make clear, our fates are linked by our common humanity and no matter how much more materially wealthy one might be than another, we really can't afford to ignore the truth. This is a politically passionate and insightful write.

One (Poetry) - 9/18/2005 8:45:14 AM
A deeply moving meditation on a somewhat simple and yet very profound truth: all things, whether the best or the worst, have their beginnings in the thoughts and actions of the singular, thus endowing those thoughts and actions with much greater power than we generally recognize. A very thought-provoking poem.

My Soul is not for Sale! (Poetry) - 9/18/2005 8:40:42 AM
Reading MY SOUL IS NOT FOR SALE! brings to mind the Biblical verse, "Render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's. Render unto heaven, that which is heaven's." Few exercise such a definitive sense of personal spiritual integrity these days but this poem is a strong reminder of the value of such integrity.
