John Remembered . . . . (Short Story) - 12/9/2005 9:06:01 AM
Even though I am not a big fan of the Beatles, this is a very well done tribute to John Lennon! Excellent write, Smokey! (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

John Remembered . . . . (Short Story) - 12/9/2005 1:15:46 AM
Smokey, This is a very nice tribute. Your memories are wonderfully described. I can almost hear the sound of you playing your guitar and singing the songs that John Lennon wrote. It was a good way to deal with the saddness and grief, and I Imagine, one that John would have approved of. Write more, I like your stories. Jill

That's My Dad (Poetry) - 1/6/2007 4:38:15 AM
Gee, I just saw you yesterday and you didn't look "smokey" or "lonesome" but I recognize your heart. Your poem gives every stepchild hope. Hope for a connection from a source often elusive and from a child's perspective, sometimes scary. Bless you for passing the love on to your own; biological or not. The world needs more dads like you.

That's My Dad (Poetry) - 4/5/2006 6:35:33 PM
Very touching tribute to your dad. As the saying goes; anyone can 'father' a child, but it takes a special person to be a 'dad'.

That's My Dad (Poetry) - 2/20/2006 2:10:55 PM
My grandson has your dad's middle name. This means you are both "smokey" and "cool!" And I know you wrote a melody about it (or at least are planning a melody) blessin's Curmudgeon Brother (and that's okay with me!) cynth'ya lewis reed

Smokey, Congratulations on a such a successful first entry into AD! With luck, one day we will learn from our mistakes, but the way things are going, I seriously doubt it. Humans are the slowest learners of all...

Bullshit (Poetry) - 4/13/2005 4:00:12 PM
Smokey, First of all, thank you for your service. *SALUTE* Secondly, welcome to Author's Den. You are among friends and you won't be lonely any more. A disturbing write in the fact that nothing seems to have changed. There is still a lot of anger and unrest--the sixties revisited. An excellent, powerfully penned, thought provoking piece-- (((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

Bullshit (Poetry) - 4/12/2005 9:03:13 PM
Been on the streets in Philly and recall all the curb side writers ranting and raving as you did in this write...no I don't think you find yourself to be lonesome here...ed & rufuz (w00f)

Bullshit (Poetry) - 4/12/2005 8:40:37 PM
Very powerful work. It is easy to visualize an angry young man trying to make sense of the world in the 60s. I think you should add "writer & poet" to musician & singer on your bio. Looking forward to reading more of your writings. Jay

Bullshit (Poetry) - 4/12/2005 7:52:16 PM
Well Smokey, you won't be lonesome here;-) Not if you always write like this! Eileen

Bullshit (Poetry) - 4/12/2005 7:50:36 PM
