Force In Marriage? (Article) - 1/22/2010 2:03:26 AM
Good to clear up difference between 'arranged' and 'forced' marriage. The former is OK (e.g. if prospective spouses believe their family/ friends know better what would be a good match for them and they voluntarily consent), the latter goes completely against the grain of Islam (even if culturally etc it's practiced, doesn't make it right!). Thank you for your article. My 2p. In peace, Rianne

Hijab: The Muslim Veil (Article) - 1/22/2010 2:00:47 AM
Due to ignorance and willful misinterpretation some women are forced to wear the hijab (or worse: the niqab - face veil) and some think it's the ultimate symbol of women's subjugation. I think it's WRONG for anyone to be forced to (not) wear they don't want to. I'm also not happy if people think I'm not 'liberated' for choosing to wear the veil (head scarf/ modest clothes - which men AND women are encouraged to do BTW!). We have so many things that are wrong in this world (injustice, oppression), let's focus on solving those together instead of creating differences. My 2p. In peace, Rianne

The Jewish State? (Article) - 6/28/2004 8:42:45 AM
Hey Shezray Great to see your comeback in writing after a long time. I think before we discuss as to there should be a jewish state or no, we should indulge our time knowing some hard facts. First of all what is the reason that Jewish people have occupied important posts in governments and military around the world? There is a simple answer to this , just because they were not allowed to live in one place which forced them to scatter and fired them with the spark of revenge, they occupied positions around the world and have been quite successful in their goals. Having said that , its upto you to decide , weather there should be a formation of jewish state or no. I believe that having a jewish state wuld be better for world peace and stability,as jews might calm down....and will stop dreaming of greater Israel when they will have a place to live, what do you think???? Regards Basit Ghafoor

The Jewish State? (Article) - 5/15/2004 3:29:48 PM
Recognizing Israel as a nation can only benefit Pakistan, as well as all the other countries. To allow free trade, of both product and knowledge makes for a stronger Pakistan. I was curious about your quote from Benjamin Franklin. It looked strangely out of place, considering the time it was supposed to have occurred. So I checked it out. No historian has ever been able to confirm that Franklin ever said those words. It is believed to have been created the 1930's, by the Nazi's to foster anti-semitism. I wish you the best and hope for peace to all nations. Sara Coslett

Blown! (Article) - 3/24/2004 8:30:57 AM
A most interesting article, Shezray. You pose some very good questions in that - if security is supposed to be as tight as every world leader keeps claiming it is - then how can a Dr. Khan sell nuclear bomb secrets for years? He could be a scapegoat as you say. Either that or there was a consensus that - given his fame - he would be the least likely to be thrown in jail. [That he wasn't surprised me, frankly.] Everyone having a bomb isn't a good idea. [It's bad enough that so many countries already do. All's it would take is one psychopath and then here's the latest mushroom cloud.] Case in point, as you may have heard, a terrorist recently said hsi group now has portable nuclear bombs they can carry around. Anyway, it's always nice to read well thought out perspectives such as yours [and not some unsupported diatribe.]

Nuclear Silhouette (Article) - 7/17/2003 12:34:08 PM
A cute little puppy like you shouldn't be worrying your pretty head about things nuclear... Forget about the Hindus, Muslims, Zionists, Zoroastrians, etc. Think "pop-star" competition. Can u sing? Cause you sure can't write, coherently anyways.

Nuclear Silhouette (Article) - 7/17/2003 9:48:01 AM
> The recent landslide victory in elections of extremist groups in Baluchistan and Frontier is not owing to their popularity but rather the flow of unknown source of dollars. An apparently successful attempt to bring extreme radicals into power and later use them as bait. Could you please clarify what you mean by this remark?

Nuclear Silhouette (Article) - 7/17/2003 7:22:46 AM
Disjointed haphazard ..... the article won't convince anyone of anything, even as a rant it is pathetic.

Nuclear Silhouette (Article) - 7/16/2003 8:22:38 AM
Good gawd, what happened to you babe?Did you marry a mullah or what? "Rancid yellow fangs","zionists",...vivid imagery. The kind I normally hear from loonies preaching hatred. "Martial nation" Pakistan indeed.WHat one remembers more of Pakistan are the aforesaid tribal leaders group sanctioning sodomy of a 12 yr old and a communit sponsored gang rape of his 30 yr old sister. Begad if these are the kind of muslim martial races you wish to keep, then welcome to your powderkeg! I hope the US stops giving aid to Pakistan too and gets out ASAP.I mean thats what you guys want isnt it?Be happy-kill a few shias, french engineers, bomb a few western consulates...whatever!

Nuclear Silhouette (Article) - 6/28/2003 12:19:31 AM
An interesting article. However one feels that the attack on India is more an attempt to satisfy existing public preceptions and attitudes mostly propogated by highly pro-establishment people. I thought you were different and had more of a broad view towards India. However regretfully you too are one of those see the threat of Nuclear weapons falling into wrong hands in India then the chances of a greater likelihood of Nuclear misuse in Pakistan. Anyway keep up the effort and keep writing.

So Who’s Next? (Article) - 4/14/2003 8:40:51 PM
Uncle Sam, Uncle Sam, have you any fool? Yes sir, yes sir, he's in the rule... "One for Saddam and one for Taliban One for Pakistan, who jumps again and again!"

So Who’s Next? (Article) - 4/13/2003 9:29:04 AM
Very good article with excellent points.

So Who’s Next? (Article) - 4/11/2003 4:14:48 AM
Well lets see whos next but one things for sure. Its the beginning of the End for the US. Im a firm believer of the fact that, in this world, u cant get away with injustice. Hitler didnt, Saddam didnt, Bust wont either!

So Who’s Next? (Article) - 4/10/2003 11:39:07 PM
Good writing.. I agree with your points/concerns.

So Who’s Next? (Article) - 4/10/2003 6:27:58 PM
I agree with your point of view but I dont see this matter black & white as you do. Lets try to answer few simple questions; 1, What were the causes which helped United States emerged as a powerful nation till now? 2, What should we do to become more powerful? Thank You for sharing.

So Who’s Next? (Article) - 4/10/2003 8:23:13 AM
First, this is extremely well written. You might think of expanding into a book, by adding onto your themes and going deeper into some of these areas. I do have some disagreements. Israel was constructed by Britain and the the wake of WW II. The Arab world had alligned itself with the Axis Powers (Germany, Italy and Japan) both times. Today, Israel acts as a sattelite for the West (England & America) in the Mid-East and that's why the U.S. and Britain insist that Israel "has a right to exist," and that any building of a Palestinian State will have come with assurances from the entire region that Israel's right to exist is accepted. I think both Bush & Blair are committed to the getting nuclear weapons out of the hands of nations like North Korea...and other such nations. I don't believe that either India or Pakistan would be considered in that category. At any rate, it would be impossible to suggest de-nuking Pakistan without de-nuking India at the same time, but even such "mutual disarmament" is distrusted. How do two sides that have a history of mistrust, come to trust in the other's disarmament? Highly unlikely. I also believe that Iraq will be returned to Iraqi control almost immediately. Some will argue that "a pro-Western government" has been installed, but a repressive regime like Hussein's, and one that openly supported Hammas' suicide/homicide bombers is untenable to both the U.S. and Britain. Just some of my thoughts on the matter. Once again, fine writing!

Bush & the Poodle (Article) - 3/17/2003 8:57:48 AM
yep - a week or so ago, I wrote in my private journal just how this would play out in the early stages...sadly, it appears to be coming true. Democracy? haha - when the majority of all nations' citizens have voiced dessent against this outrage, yet their GOVERNMENTS will support/ignore this? It's time for people everywhere to ASSERT their democracatic principles...the earth is in great peril from all governments' military power... small-time terrorists are NOT the significant threat! IMO

Bush & the Poodle (Article) - 3/17/2003 1:19:56 AM
Written from the heart! True but alas would mean nothing more than "Yes teacher, I protested", Fire in the heart needs to be backed up by firepower.

Bush & the Poodle (Article) - 3/16/2003 6:02:56 AM
This is excellent write from you...Very very deep and powerful n luck..BHUWAN

Plight Of The Prisoners (Article) - 3/13/2003 4:54:09 AM
Whenever in the world a great change for good has come about, there was first a single voice raised in protest. May you be heard!

Plight Of The Prisoners (Article) - 3/8/2003 3:27:54 AM

A Wise step towards Wisdom

Student and Politics (Article) - 1/11/2003 2:36:02 PM
I would agree with most of ur comments. Alot of valid points, one sticking point throughout the article is that student politics is in many ways part of the establishment. Rather than discouraging student politicians perhaps they should form independent organizations , student unions therefor making a fresh start without the filth of the establishment.

Plight Of The Prisoners (Article) - 10/2/2002 12:54:05 PM

Brilliant work Shez, Alexander is right and I hate politics and the power trips that come with it. Humanity is caring about others, which you have shown...keep it up. Peace out

I'm An Angel (Poetry) - 3/21/2003 7:45:13 AM
Excellent. Wars only kill innocent children. Bush's "liberation" of Afghanistan and Iraq is nothing but a big lie.

Black (Poetry) - 3/17/2003 9:08:03 AM
Darkness prevails, and the fate of the planet is on the tightrope. Who is it at the ends, holding and shaking - threatening life as we know it? (the power-players with the military muscle that seems to obstruct their brain function.) - a terrifying write. I am too outraged to be as sad as this should make me.

Black (Poetry) - 3/17/2003 7:08:03 AM

Shezray, you have post quite a dilemma haven't you? The fire drives me wild and the ice makes me feel cold. So you know I choose fire. Bill Murray

OF FIRE AND ICE (Poetry) - 2/14/2003 8:36:09 AM
Nicely written Shezray. The choices we must make... I think I'd choose both. The fire would melt the ice, which in turn would put out the fire. But then again, my luck, I'd then most likely drown. lol. -Hope all is well, -James

OF FIRE AND ICE (Poetry) - 2/14/2003 8:18:10 AM

Alone and Lonely (Poetry) - 1/22/2003 10:58:14 AM
Go ahead makes the skies cry. no wonder its been raining. well hey they laughed with you now they cry with you. All part of life. great words but too sad if you ask me. Just because there are no ripples does not mean the pond is not there. Its in tranquility, ripples are turmoil. let it be. The pebbles doesnt distort things. it just gives you a different view of glad for your heart is alive, it feels.

Alone and Lonely (Poetry) - 1/22/2003 7:55:13 AM

Alone and Lonely (Poetry) - 1/20/2003 6:00:38 PM
Oh so sad dear. So lonely and no ripples in the pond. Take a pebble in your hand shut your eys, and toss the pebble in the water. Then make a wish and open your eyes. The pebble will make a ripple and your wish will come true. Bill Murray

MOVING ON (Poetry) - 1/20/2003 10:52:57 AM

SANDS OF TIME (Poetry) - 6/19/2002 11:24:14 PM
"I remain a cameleer... moving swiftly through the shifting sands of time... seeking direction from the winds of change... and moving towards that oasis, always on the horizon." Ur poem reminds me of the above i wrote in o'levs while describing myself... Sometimes u remind me of what i felt about life back then. Now everything is too practical... for me there are no footprints in the sand... and if someone comes into my life only to leave a void and a "cold white glare" then they werent worth being part of my life anyways! People are more important, if they mean someting to you never let go... hold onto THEM instead of their footprints and their memories. Moral of the story : I am worth holding onto for the rest of ur life ! ;)

In The Rain (Poetry) - 6/18/2002 1:01:28 PM
Superb rendition of human soul expression...u are so aligned with your spirit... hold on to it always

well if i say it again i'll be repeating what everybody said...but envy the rain i envy the reason you were in the rain in the first place....what lucky girl....find me a reason to look into the eyes of God also....but lovely my dear....i am sure at that moment God smiled upon the earth because you smiled of sheer happiness at him...

In The Rain (Poetry) - 6/18/2002 11:22:27 AM
