Your thoughts in this poem remind me of mine when I was younger. I now live in the burbs of a city and still dread the days that I have to go there for anything. It can be a rat-race. Nice write.

Reminds me of Baker Street lyrics, in which Jerry Rapherty sang... this city desert makes you feel so cold... so many people but it's got no soul.
By dropping the last five lines, your piece will make a more powerful impact. Sometimes it's what you leave out.
