Not in Nagoya (Book) - 3/1/2006 6:49:38 PM
This was a fun novel to write. I love learning, and this was a prime opportunity to research Japan. Also, it gave me the reason I needed to take the English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching course. This book is intended to show that peoples of different races and ages are more alike than different.

Elton John - A Legend in his own time (Article) - 3/18/2006 3:12:29 PM
This reminds me of when I told my husband that Marilyn Monroe's real name was Norma Jean Baker. Norma is the name of my son's evil stepmother! Well, one night, my husband was TRYING to be sweet, playing "nice" music, and then he gets up and forwards the CD to Elton John's "Good Bye, Norma Jean"! I sat there clenching my teeth, and actually managed not to say a word. But when the song was good and over, I pretended to yawn, blew out the candles and said I needed some sleep. Makes me laugh now.

Chapters speech on writing (Article) - 3/10/2006 9:00:19 AM
Hi! Janet, All I can say is RIGHT ON...write on. You are also courageous . It takes guts to face a crowd and make a speach;whether the crowd is ten people or a hundred. I have yet to promote my book,"Tag...You're Dead" in a bookstore where I would have to be infront of ,hopefully,a large group of people. Keep up the good work!

Thou shalt not skateboard? (Poetry) - 5/2/2008 10:57:00 PM
dear janet, with your sentiments i do sympathize. my son ben used to love skateboarding though i did not think much of it then myself. it always struck me as the kind of activity of "those kids' with whom one didn't want his son to identify only to discover that he was one of them ... (sigh) alan d. busch

Thou shalt not skateboard? (Poetry) - 1/15/2008 8:04:16 PM
Hmmm Kinda sends yah down memory lane, of the days of you're precious blokes knocking off hubcaps, yeah think I prefer the skateboard parks, keeps them off the pavement LOL. The council built one not far from our house, in a bit of a valley, and all was well, as they enjoyed, and graffiti was practiced haha. then they built a nice new copshop, overlooking the boarding park lol, too funny, now they still graffitti, but... Ah Youth! :) Ch'erie

Thou shalt not skateboard? (Poetry) - 11/30/2007 11:29:10 PM
Excellent. Remove the dead hand of disapproval from the shoulders of joyous youths and remember, we pass the world to them, not visa versa. keith

Thou shalt not skateboard? (Poetry) - 10/6/2007 7:50:41 AM
There are too many nonsensical actions fueled by the attempt to stereotype teens and youth. In my state, they are attempting to ban baggy clothing claiming drugs can be easily hidden in them... Such a poorly masked dislike of a style. Slovenly or no... it'll pass just like styles of the past, and come around again. ;) Time better spent following up on actual disturbances or illegal acts. Great expression here! ((Hugs and LOve)) ~SilentDream

Thou shalt not skateboard? (Poetry) - 5/18/2007 5:36:59 AM
WELL WRITTEN FELLOW POET.

Thou shalt not skateboard? (Poetry) - 4/28/2007 8:23:29 PM
This is a very convincing and straightforward indictment of a community's fear of the young congregating on their own terms. Well written. Brett
