The Car (Short Story) - 9/7/2011 9:47:27 AM
Wow.. how extraordinarily powerful this little gem is, Marguerite! It bears reading more than once. Praise the LORD for giving us the power to reason.. and for His forgiveness, when each and every one of us recognizes that the error of our own ways has messed things up good, at one time or another. I'm deeply sorry for your losses. Love & prayers, Rhonda

LF, God would not have reproduced a copy of an imperfect creation from an imperfect one. When he created man, he also created woman. Hence, it makes no difference. We are all his creation. Man and woman alike. But that was a comical approach. God Bless, Lew

The Complicated Mind (Short Story) - 8/15/2006 5:06:38 AM
Very True. What was it Jesus said? "Except those days be shortened." Fear not he who can kill the body and after can do nothing more. Fear he who after he has killed the body can through the soul into everlasting Hell. We need to find love in this mad world. If not we will never see the next. God Bless, Lew

In Prisoned For Life (Article) - 9/27/2011 4:48:45 PM
The issue of whether life in prison or a death penalty is one that I think will never be answered to everyone's satisfaction but myself...I truly feel that if a person committs a heinious crime such as pre meditated murder, shows no remorse, and is a threat to commit again...death is the only solution. fee

Death (Article) - 10/25/2007 7:22:30 AM
This poem reminds me of how christianity was taught years ago - do good, go to heaven -- do bad, go to hell. We still have those choices, but I am glad to see God being taught as loving, kind, merciful and just. Kathy

To Be A Christian (Article) - 9/26/2007 8:21:38 AM
Lil Flower. I agree with what you write. I would add this, though. God's mercy is great and it is a gift to whomever he sees fit to give it too. The reason should be clear. He knows what we can only surmise. To be a Christian is in part one with the ability to know of his or her failures and the humility to lay them on Gods strong shoulders through Jesus Christ. Only he can judge. Your poem was a wonderful wakeup call. Stress that forgiveness. It is our salvation. God Bless, Lew

To Be A Christian (Article) - 9/26/2007 6:05:01 AM
As your poem so clearly states - Christian is not a title, but a way of life. To embrace God [and by words and actions] and to share His love is the responsibility of all Christians. Well said. Kathy

Lighting The Way (Poetry) - 8/11/2011 4:53:46 PM
Dearest Marguerite.. how positively BEAUTIFUL! Your uplifting and inspitrational poetry causes me to recall my first Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Ivy Patton (now deceased) who taught me to sing 'This Little Light of Mine' when I was just 3 years old, as she sat me atop her lap at the piano! Forty years later, I found her again and thanked her for the seeds of love she had planted into my life, and told her of my own ministry and the fruit it was bearing because of her. She was gladdened in heart and we wrote back and forth with great joy, until she passed within that year. So now, 20 more years later, here I am recalling her again.. and all because of your splendid poetry that shines its light into the hearts and minds of the reader. The LORD is great and greatly to be praised - and so is your work for Him! On behalf of everyone the LORD has ever touched through your loving heart and hands, Miss Marguerite - including all those who never stopped to tell you at all - I want to say a resounding THANK YOU! GOD BLESS YOU! YOU ARE SURELY BELOVED OF THE PEOPLE! Much love to you, precious saint. I love you dearly. And I love your new profile photo, too - just gorgeous for a 90-year- young-chick like yourself!! ;) As ever, Rhonda

Smile (Poetry) - 7/25/2011 12:03:25 PM
Oh Marguerite, How lovely, your musings are.. they are simple.. and satisfying. Makes me think of the Scripture, Godliness with contentment is great gain. And you could not know what your phrase 'And the red bird in the sky' means to me.. I recently lost a beloved Friend & Colleague, an Evangelist, who valiantly battled lung cancer. Before Brother Gary flew away to be with the LORD, he told me, Every time you see the red bird, it will be me. And I must say, they have been more abundant at my feeder than ever before! :) The LORD is gracious, full of compassion.. It was also lovely to receive a message from YOU! When is the Big Day, sweetie? The LORD has blessed you with long life, Marguerite, because you are holy, sanctified unto Him! And I love and admire you dearly.. as does my brother. GOD Bless You and Keep You - and Happy 90th Birthday, Marguerite! - whenever it is? You remain in my heart and daily prayers. Love & Hugs, Rhonda

A Plea For Mercy (Poetry) - 7/23/2010 1:58:51 AM
There is great desperation in this poem. God doesn't change things for you. He gives you the strength to find the knowledge to change things for yourself. You have to take some action with forward reaching goals. Delve deeply in your problem to look for answers, and somewhere you will find a little path that will lead you to what you seek.

Dearest Marguerite, How magnificent! A gorgeous poetic rendering.. I believe as you do, it is a sign of His grace! On Resurrection morn, a silver cross appeared in our sky right across from the bells of St. Gregory's, which were tolling out His glory! I squealed with delight, and raised my hands to heaven! He is our LORD, our All-in-All, in Whom we live and move and breathe, and have our being! All hail King Jesus! God bless you, Marguerite.. Life Today (Poetry) - 12/24/2008 12:21:13 PM
Thanks Michelle for your comment. You are a man after my own heart. I have many years over you but I see clearly where you are and perhaps where you have been. God, Jesus, was trying to get your attention and this is how He does it. It is thru suffering, as he has done, and carying it to the finish line, is what it is all about. So, hang in there, pray, and do good and God will see you thru and there will be peace and happiness. He can not promise us here as to this but it will be waiting for us on the other side. Peace and happiness to you my friend in Christ. I have a Grandson just your age and many others, along with greatgrand children, who I witness to and I am proud of each one. That is what love is about. Love one another as I have loved you. God Bless and Merry Christmas. 'lil flower

Life Today (Poetry) - 12/23/2008 10:55:34 PM
No aches or pains, no walking stick - this line really stuck out to me as since age 34 I have been disabled with fibromyalgia and other various health problems, and i walk with a cane/walking stick, and i can tell you that i never imagined the life i am now leading, i thought i was invincible. i have been given a real gift though, as through my Catholic faith, i was at this same time, though a cradle Catholic, drawn to the Autobiography of the Soul by St Therese of Lisieux as well as to a book about Job and both have changed my life tremendously. The gifts i have been given through suffering far outweigh the things i perceived as gifts prior to my illness, and I would not trade them for the material things I once thought were so important. So much today is about self, and suffering helps us to stay small and think of other things than self. Thanks for this poem and Merry Christmas. Michelle

Take Away The Hurt (Poetry) - 10/22/2008 7:14:05 AM
Child abuse is such a horrible crime! It affects that child's present and future outlook on life, their trust of others, and causes physical damage, and great mental anguish, amongst other things. Such a dastardly crime is often never brought to light and the perpetrator remains unexposed, only to repeat that same crime again and again. A heartfelt and well expressed poem, Little Flower.

Take Away The Hurt (Poetry) - 10/21/2008 12:33:58 PM
Strong sentiments to carry through life, yet so genuine.... Be always safe, Karen

Take Away The Hurt (Poetry) - 10/21/2008 1:11:13 AM
The hurt of a child by an abuser keeps a part of that child forever trapped in that time frame and that unhealing pain. Years can go by, and sometimes they even find ways to forgive...but I don't think they ever forget. You captured that intense pain so well here that as a father and grandfather my heart reached out and my anger rose for someone who could do this. Fee

Heaven is a beautiful place, with mansions waiting for each of us. Sounds like you have found contentment and serinity in your life, somthing most of us never find. Good for you. hugs Fee

Life Alone (Poetry) - 3/2/2008 7:23:28 AM
Being content enough and happy enough in and with our own lives is half the battle when it comes to happiness. My great-grandmother lived alone for 60 years after her husband died. She never re-married and raised her son and nephew, by herself, on a house-cleaners salary. When those children were grow, she lived with her cats and lived a very simple, yet very happy life until she passed at the age of 90. I think, so often, we are guilty of complicating our lives too much and would be better advised to life simply and carefree, even if alone. I'm glad you've found that happiness and are content enough with it to write about it. Hopefully, others will read your words and see that you can be alone and still be happy. Thanks, Marguerite. White Man In The White House (Poetry) - 2/8/2008 9:46:52 AM
Another woman's opinion... this country was structured to maintain the separation of church and state, a president should be qualified politically and that is the only requirement. Why not a woman for president, if she is qualified? Why not a qualified person (man or woman) of any ethnic origin or color or religion, why does there even have to be a color or gender or religious distinction at all?

White Man In The White House (Poetry) - 2/7/2008 4:13:21 AM
I don't know much about politics, but I do think that if a woman wants to try to be President, she should at least be given that opportunity. However, I don't trust Hillary; yet if I had to choose between Obama or Hillary, I'd choose Hillary. I just don't trust Obama; he scares me. (My first choice right now would be Mike Huckabee; we need a man of God, of spiritual convictions, in the White House!! Don't know as of yet though; yet this is the guy I'd choose.) (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

White Man In The White House (Poetry) - 2/7/2008 3:39:02 AM
M.L.F. I usually don't get involved in discussions of religion and politics but I just couldn't resist putting my two cents worth into this one. I consider myself a very devoted Chritian/Catholic but there are issues which my religion teaches that I disagree with. If we intend to mix politics and religion then we must keep an open mind. The Lord said, "be fruitful and multiply." I don't think He meant for woman to remain, excuse the expression, barefoot and pregnant. In today's society the only way most families can survive is to have both parents working and sharing responsibilities. I know the Lord never meant us to be gender or color blind so why not a woman, black man, red man, yellow man, catholic, baptist or even atheist in the white house. If the person running has the right qualifications it doesn't make a difference which religion, color or gender they are. I think I'll stop here. Perhaps I've said too much already. When I was a young boy my ambition was to be a priest but I think I would have made a lousy one. God's Peace, Love and Blessings to Us Always, Paul.

White Man In The White House (Poetry) - 2/6/2008 9:14:38 PM
I am not quite sure I am reading this right or not but if you are saying only a white male should hold the position of President, or that women are not meant to have careers other than making and taking care of babies, or that women cannot have enough spirituality as men to become Ministers, priests or for that matter even cardinals and popes than sadly you are still living in the dark ages. I respect your rights to your opinioin but history and plain intelligence has proven that all are created equal and if we believe in God we must also believe this. Fee
