CAJUN SUMMER (Short Story) - 2/26/2006 4:37:14 PM|
I LIKE Cajun Summer~!!!!!!! I saved the story.
He needed to return once in a while. His body and spirit needed this time. And he wondered if a different kind of world could be created if everyone could have a place like this in which to retreat. A place for souls to stretch, peace to restore sinking spirits.
For me, there is no other place to restore my spirit except here on the bayou. You've captured the ways of the Cajuns so well.
I'll be back later....

To Write (Poetry) - 9/17/2003 4:14:38 AM
Yes, if we were taken as serious as we take ourselves, we would all be famous, in the eyes of the public. But what matters most is that we are happy with who we are, in just the eyes of our mirrors. Great write. Lisa

Comatose (Poetry) - 8/29/2003 9:43:47 PM
Wow, this is wonderful, Evelyn! It has me wondering...did you ever ask him, if I may ask you, if he felt he was "somewhere" when he was not here? Did he feel "elsewhere"? I'm sure you were just so extremely happy for him to wake up, and you ruffled his hair and smiled into his brown eyes. :) I hope he is doing well, now. What a thing to go through, he must have much inner strength.

AS AUTUMN SLEEPS (Poetry) - 11/4/2002 11:45:08 PM
Evelyn, I do not miss winter at all in California. Three seasons are enough for me to feel things are pleasant and enjoyable. I was raised in a cold Illinois climate though. Bill
AS AUTUMN SLEEPS (Poetry) - 11/4/2002 6:21:49 PM
Great write, Evelyn. Winter in California is not as harsh as winter back east or in our north. But it does get a bit chilly sometimes enough that I notice fewer people on our beaches sunning.
AS AUTUMN SLEEPS (Poetry) - 11/4/2002 3:57:02 PM
i got that idea quite well, evelyn, but i happen to love winter; i always have loved winter (except for having to clean the darn car and then having to shovel our driveway! i also hated to drive in the ice!); and i still do love winter; but it DOES play ~HAVOC~ with my arthritis!! love, your friend, karen lynn. A Summer Storm (Poetry) - 6/3/2002 10:05:07 AM
I love storms because when they are over there is a freshness where all is washed away.
inner currents smolder and fade and you are able to go on again until the next storm.
so fire away little synapses. you are just electrical currents of the mind.
A Summer Storm (Poetry) - 6/2/2002 7:53:52 PM

THE SWAN (Poetry) - 1/4/2002 1:20:22 AM
On Avon's Breast
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
I saw a stately and imperious swan
Floating on Avon's fair, untroubled breast.
Sudden it seemed as if all strife had gone
Out of the world; all discord, all unrest.
The sorrows and the sinnings of the race
Faded away like nightmares in the dawn;
All heaven was one blue background for the grace
Of Avon's beautiful, slow-moving swan,
And earth held nothing more commonplace.
Life seemed no longer to be hurrying on
With unbecoming haste, but softly trod
As one who reads in emerald leaf, on lawn,
Or crimson rose, a message straight from God.
On Avon's breast I saw a stately swan.
THE SWAN (Poetry) - 1/4/2002 1:14:56 AM
