Yes, yes, you are a writer! I am, too, although it's not my top source of income. I'd shrivel up and die if I didn't write. The trick is getting readers--and I bet you're well on your way!

You are a writer. Thank you for a realistic view of our job. We don't write 24-7 and we don't always LOVE to write. It's who we are and what we do. It's one of the few professions where we're supposed to be *on* continuously. Go figure. Like anyone else, I enjoy my days off minus the deadlines and the computer. Great article!

oh, this touched me more than you ever know, fran! jimmy is blessed to have such a caring mother, and you are blessed to have him in your life! he may be disabled to most people, but god sees him as perfect, and i do too! it's not what is on the outside that counts; it's what comes from within! he is a lot smarter than people give him credit for, and you have done a great job with him! brava to you and your son, jimmy! i salute you both!!

My sister in spirit I can identify with your story. I walked with the Angels and talk with God everyday through the spirit. You are one of the chosen. Many will never understanding the beauty of our God. Who touches us when we are down. And rises us to another level of spirituality never leaving the earth. Continue to bless those with your gift. What God has ordained no man can erase.

I was touched by this piece. "My breasts are gone...yet
I still have my mind/to think, to create, to wonder
My breasts are gone...yet
I still have my eyes
to see the beauty of God's creations, to read the words that bring me wisdom and life and to cry tears
of joy and sadness".
Powerful, encouraging write in the face of incredible loss and illness; you are a survivor, and this poem shows us just what a courageous and strong person you really are! BRAVA to a brave lady, fran! This really touched me more than you ever will know, and I don't even have cancer (thank GOD!)! May you continue to fight this battle, and keep on relying on God to get you through the rough times; you KNOW He will help you if you just ask for Him! And you KNOW that He will NEVER leave you, no matter WHAT you are facing!

Some days I don't feel like writing either; but I still do it, regardless, or if I have the time to DO it. Thursdays I don't do any writing because the library is closed, and I don't have a computer. That makes it hard! But any other day I am here at the library, writing away; and as long as I am able, I will continue TO write!

This is an amazing piece! Your strength and courage shine through with intensity. Two years ago, i went through a breast cancer "scare" and on the heels of that...a cervical cancer "scare" that shook my world pretty hard. Your bravery and understanding of the fact that we are so much more than the sum of all our parts is commendable. This truly overjoyed me.
