Actually Ted, they are a gardner's best friend. they harm no plants and get rid of thousands of harmful pests such as aphids and other crop eating insects.

I never kill them even when the come by the hundreds to lite on my garden, I water them with a fine mist, and they fly to my next door neighbors garden.
