Interesting story...the spider is also in our Islamic tradition, it was a spider's web that helped protect Prophet Muhammad and his companion AbuBaker in the cave after they fled Mecca on their way to Medina. Perhaps someone reading about this true story got inspired by it? Just a thought!

Each time I read this, it just makes me mad that one so young can already see the "writing on the wall." For those who believe in Him, this change/legacy is unacceptable, but "the squeeky wheel is what gets greased."
As a nation, have we no pride at all for what this country was built on?

Imagine that! (Article) - 12/15/2006 12:18:30 PM
I do know all of this - and indeed, was fortunate to have been to visit these same places as a young teenager...
The reason we are experiencing the current-day mess, is, as you well-know, because Thomas Jefferson was prophetic in his statement - and the government perverse. They re-interpreted "separation of Church and State", so why should we be surprised Judges are re-interpreting the Constitution altogether? What starts out as just a tiny bit wrong......if not completely corrected and restored.......ends up miles apart from the Truth, from which it began. LOOK WHERE WE ARE HEADED....... AND, IMAGINE THAT!
Skipper huh? Say thanks for me!
I'll be sending this along now...

Great words of wisdom Art! Here is my take:
Some politians may have a way with words.
They may even win a few battles now and then.
They make think that they are winning.
But thoose that stand with Our Father in Heaven will in the war.
For Christ has risen far above the universe and those that stand with Him will have victory Forevermore...

Wonderful poem and message. It also says somewhere in the Bible that we are closest to God when doing for others. We all need to lend a halping hand when we can. Even if it's difficult, if someone is in need we must reach out or we play the devil's game.

Loss ---- An inspiration from Empathy (Poetry) - 10/6/2008 12:37:34 PM
Comment: Very well done in showing your inner feelings at the same time recognizing the reality of death... I think you can empathically see how someone else has faced death of a loved one and can use it as a model...but each relationship is so unique, in my opinion, that only you will fully understand exactly what you've lost. Well said!

Sadly, every "church" has these hypocrites. Saturday night - get drunk, beat the wife, beat the kids, have a mistress or mister. Go to church on Sunday - being holier than thou. His power is the answer, do not fake it - He knows the difference. Powerful write.

Blessed Retirees (Poetry) - 9/26/2007 7:24:05 PM
"Blessed Retirees," a fabulous write, Art!
I've been one of those retirees for quite a number of years, now. I must confess, it took awhile for me to get "up to speed." But as you might gather from my poem Be Still And Hear My Voice, I got the word and saw the light and know truth: "...there's lots and lots for us to do, we blessed retirees."
What a powerful piece of writing!

Weather Life Whether Death (Poetry) - 9/7/2007 7:14:02 PM
Beautifully penned, Rock! If you copied this directly from Rhonda's site, the problem is in non-compatible formatting code. Solution would be to use your word-processing tools to first remove the formatting and then post it to AD using the AD enhanced tools. It is actually an HTML problem where all versions of HTML are not equal. Messing with this can be frustrating but the end product is worth the effort. Write on!

Nicely done, Rock! I picture a little child toddling over to his Daddy in complete trust, knowing in his child's-heart that in Daddy's arms is safety and love.
And I think that's what Jesus' love is, a refuge for the one who will rest in His arms and trust Him in all things.

What You Do. (Poetry) - 8/30/2007 4:46:16 PM
Glorifying God is the end result of the Christian life. Spiritual maturity is simply concentrating and focusing on the person of God until we are caught up in His majesty and His glory.
My Loving Heart (Art), you have written with excellence, in giving proclamation to God's word and how we must, consume it as our daily bread and quench our thirst with it, in our daily lives!
Presenting, the Word clearly and accurately, always gives Him glory!
You have honored Him, by making His word clearly known and understood, through your divinely inspired words, and, your superb choice of artwork.

Sadly, this is reality and truth, showing how easy some find it to be so critically judgemental of the exterior, and not see the beauty within the interior!
Judge not, that you be not judged. "For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:1-3

Mercy is a rare commodity these days.
As is compassion, forgiveness, and tolerance.
Mercy! (Poetry) - 8/9/2007 7:22:51 AM
A perfectly composed and illustrated sermonette!
Mercy is generated by suffering...How Father God loves us, and proved it, in Christ's Crucifixion for humanity's sake, as a way to bring His creation back to Himself, that they might not perish, but have the everlasting life He intended for them, from the Beginning. Man's sin still separates him from His Creator, but our Merciful Father has given him the way back - through Jesus Christ!
His Mercy continues, in those who partake of His suffering on earth -
but one day soon, we shall also share His glory! Come LORD Jesus!
Bless you/missed you/intense prayer this past week

How true, Brother Art, and how wisely you have written. And sometimes it is exceedingly difficult to act in patience and love when someone treats you as though you are worthless and disgusting.
Jesus is our great example and not only that, it is through Him that we are strengthened and filled with Jesus-love for others. It's a beautiful life when lived by His grace, and it is noticed and watched by those around us, whether we know it or not.

Be still my heart! Amazingly and spiritually awesome! Your words expressed how important it is, that we as Christians, must be His witness, to the lost and unsaved, to guide them to contrition and their salvation, in the Lord. To recieve His forgiveness, mercy, love, peace, deliverance and be free of the worldly disillusions, Satan's deceptions!
You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and My servants whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. Isaiah 43:10

GReat write, Art. And yes, I know exactly what you mean, too. Like you, I asked God to send me my mate. And he did...Though the road was bumpy at times, we held together for 33 years and counting. Now we are inseparable...like peas in a pod. When God choses your mate, He remains steadfast in keeping that union strong. I loved this poem because it so reflects my feelings on the matter and my stong convictions that God is good. We must put our trust in Him.

He knew me, when! (Poetry) - 6/12/2007 7:34:09 PM
Wonderfully written, Art. You touched on what the reflection in the mirror reveals of a contrite spirit, in a person, and the essence of a broken spirit to repent, daily, for we all fall short of the glory of God. Remaining transparent in my Beloved~~~~ LoveyaWayMore, Jan
External religiosity, without a change of attitude in the inner spirit, falls short of true repentance.
The sacarifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart. Psalm 51:17
Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist, Says the Lord. But on this one will I look. On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word. Isaiah 66:1-2
God's plan is to live in human beings and not in man-made temples. These verses again denounce all religious ritualism that is not accompanied with reverence, justice and sincerity.

Wonderful writing, Art!
(The word "Simony",which is the buying and selling of
church offices and influence, originates here.) Mega,
And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the
apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered
them money, saying, "Give me this power also, that
anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy
Spirit." But Peter said to him, "Your money perish
you, because you thought that the gift of God could be
purchased with money! You have neither part nor
portion in this matter for your heart is not right in
the sight of God. "Repent therefore of this your
wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of
your heart may be forgiven you."For I see that you
are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity."
(Your money perish...iniquity: Simon's quest to buy
the ability to impart the power of the Spirit was his
obvious sin, including a more subtle evil is his
desire to use the power of God for his own gain.)

We are to be Disciples (learn and live the disciplines)of Christ.
On the other hand, (you know me, ROCK - the Counselor/Advocate branch :)) the LORD shows mercy to all who love Him. Many people get ahead of the LORD's perfect timing, is all...and when that happens, they take the reigns into hands of flesh, instead of being led by His steadfast Spirit.
"For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity." Proverbs 24:16
"There is therefore, now, no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1

Crime! (Poetry) - 5/21/2007 4:04:00 PM
A good write, violence has become a way of life. When we were young we were reared that violence was unacceptable and there was a consequence to pay. Powerful write that says it all. God bless you, Art.

His Word and will, or status quo? (Poetry) - 5/20/2007 9:06:29 PM
Excellent! Changing laws and hiding behind "political correctness" doesn't change the Word of God.

His Word and will, or status quo? (Poetry) - 5/20/2007 5:11:18 PM
Powerful yes as in the days of Lot we return to sin and condone it and it still is to him the Holy One an lot of abomination. He created us man and woman and equal. Good to see you again.
His Word and will, or status quo? (Poetry) - 5/20/2007 2:17:26 PM
Hate the sin and forgive the sinner but do not condone a sin and say it is good and acceptable behavior.

MATTERS OF THE HEART (Poetry) - 3/22/2007 11:07:29 AM
In righteousness the matter will be established; When you find her, Live in harmony; Be sympathetic; Be compassionate; Teach each other in gentle loving ways; Answer to the Lord and seek God's Will daily, through His Word; Honor one another above self; Speak Truth with Love; Operate in Fruit of the Holy Spirit; Lead by example; Seek reconciliation as well as resolution, because sometimes husband and wife may agree to disagree, yet they must vow to stay connected; Pray daily togther; Daily atone; Obey the Lord; Serve the Lord; Do not become weary in doing good; Serve each other; Remain steadfast; Love one another; Bless each other; Pray for each other; Do everything in Love, for.... Love expects the best, Love believes the best, and God commands us: Remain in love, one for the other. "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity in yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15:5.
