Snowflake Dreams - (revised) (Short Story) - 11/27/2011 3:46:39 PM
Connie, once again your impeccable style of entertaining the Reader, while spot-lighting human frailties, and the LORD's remedies for them, brings overflowing joy!
Especially in this season, when there tends to be a rise in depression, often wrought by the recent loss of a spouse or family member, the loss of a job, or the lack of funds to buy several and large gifts - or even the unlikeliness of receiving them for one's self - is the need to recall your Fabian's thoughts: "Perhaps it would be wise to be content with bringing smiles to their hearts as they drew near, rather than wasting his winter days dreaming of what he couldn't do."
Whatever we focus on becomes larger.. Considering others takes our minds off ourselves. Jesus told us to do unto others AS WE would have them do unto us. For He knew that godliness, with contentment, is great gain.
A truly wonderful and well-written story, Connie. May GOD bless you -and Fabian's crafter, Robin Wetzel, too!
Love & Hugs, Rhonnie

Lost and Found -- Children's halloween story - Teaching salvation (Short Story) - 10/28/2009 5:33:50 PM
Great lesson for a big brother to make and survive to see his sister and family again. I will be reading this to my grandson, Michael who has a new little sister named Kate. We've discussed the responsibilities of a big brother already but this will give him a different slant on things .
Young Kate was Christened this past Sunday and her Godmother brought Michael( he's three) a tootsie pop dressed up as a goblin. When the priest asked him what he had in his breast pocket he replieed," My GG ( Ga. grandmother) said it is the Holy Ghost". That brought smiles and giggles at the Baptismal and an even to recall on the anniversary of Kate's Christening each year.

A Coat -Tale (Short Story) - 1/31/2009 9:59:28 AM
I too have held on to God's coat tail, whenever times have been tough. This story HAS to be true, because I keep hearing it repeated over and over, with only the names changed to protect the innocent!
Despite all of the suffering in the world, this proves once again that there really is a loving god who answers his children's needs, when they ask him for the right reasons.

God in A Rose (Article) - 6/9/2009 8:38:04 AM
Thank you for sharing...
Roses have always been one of my favorite flowers. I have always thought of a rose's thorns as the perfect example of opposites...just as experiencing sorrow is a must if we are to know pure joy, etc... Without the bad we wouldn't appreciate the good nearly as much, and so it is with the rose...it's beauty is so far superior to the thorns.

Glimpses of Jesus (Article) - 10/18/2006 6:41:59 PM
Let me wipe my tears so I can see to post this....this one really touched me. You have captured this so beautiful. I know we shouldn't complain, because even though our suffering is hard and sometimes we think that we can't bare it...his was so much worse. What if he hadn't have suffered it for us??? Where would we be? You've given the reader so much to think about. This would be a beautiful write to have before one goes into surgery or even for a procedure where you are sedated. It is very uplifting....

BEFORE..... (Poetry) - 10/12/2013 3:52:16 AM
Before the fall Adam and Eve were those meant to tend the garden. I've often thought that man was not intended to live in Eden forever, for we are restless and wreckless under the best of circumstance. To project my own thoughts into it, I believe we were never to be rewarded with paradise in this life. That would be too simple and easy for such contradictory and complicated creations such as us. To seperate the wheat from chaff the wind must do it's work. To make the purest flower, the grinding stone must be used. Those who are worthy will be in the Book of Life...Those who are unworthy will die the final death..I love a poem that makes me think Connie. Thank you. Bob

Cross to Paradise - (Easter) (Poetry) - 3/28/2013 4:05:14 PM
As for you, you will be with me in Paradise! Connie, I hear these words over and over. It is so simple to accept him and go on and trust he will show you the way through faith! What an example this robber was to mankind, to know he was a thief and was pierced as Christ was, and knew when he looked upon this man called Jesus, he was different from all the rest. He saw forgiveness and not shame when he looked upon our Lord!
Thank you for sharing the most important person in my life for all to see, Christ in you and Christ in me!
Love you my friend!

You have created a work of true rudimentary relevance here, and I think your "X" is already eXcellent, as is this entire piece - most especially, is your eXcellent heart for our LORD!
The Home We Value (Poetry) - 2/3/2013 4:12:49 AM
i like the way you made this work
Will of A Woman (Poetry) - 2/2/2013 1:34:35 PM
This is beautiful, but poor Eve, her husband was weak to eat it too, I wonder how it would have turned out if Adam had not eaten that apple, lol
The Home We Value (Poetry) - 2/2/2013 1:32:19 PM
Brilliant, and 'X' is perfect in that line, I wouldn't know what to put there but you did, hmm, I am going to do one of these abecedarians, challenge to self :-)
The Home We Value (Poetry) - 2/2/2013 1:29:00 PM
An excellent write, Connie. I truly enjoyed this. As for an X word; look up "xenial." Once you see the definition I think you will be able to make it work.
Will of A Woman (Poetry) - 1/30/2013 7:06:55 PM
I will never blame "EVE" or woman for where we are today and what happened. That is just wrong. That is why I abhor men's interpretation of scriptures that gave birth to religions that have always and are still now spewing hatred and war upon this planet. I'm just saying. Love and blessings to you, Connie,
Will of A Woman (Poetry) - 1/20/2013 9:29:23 AM
The story of Eve in the Bible portrays women as secondary to men and also as the one who invokes evil. This is a way that the early writers of what they call the gospel made sure that women remained weaker and subservient.
Will of A Woman (Poetry) - 1/19/2013 6:13:57 PM
There are so many "Truth's" of what happened in that moment. The heart is the way home. Wisdom is the illusion. At least that is my preception at this time.
Will of A Woman (Poetry) - 1/19/2013 4:42:47 PM
We all suffer this weakness to some point, Connie. Nicely done.

Night Feast (Poetry) - 1/8/2013 6:42:34 AM
I loved this! I read my Bible every night before bed and wake reading too, it is in the middle of the night when he wakes me and tells me things I really listen! I like Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it"!
Thanks Connie for the inspiration!

Connie, this is a beautiful, moving poem, and full of the truth about Jesus' birth, the ultimate gift to mankind.
This poem reminds me of the one I wrote for Christmas this year,2012; I have written a Christmas poem for the last three or four years.
When you have a moment, stop by my den and read "The First Gift".

Thank you, my friends, for your very kind reviews! Pat, the words of the song I shared with you are precious words for me. My younger brother whose name was Pat (Patrick), had terminal cancer. He died at the age of 29. He was my kids' favorite uncle! He loved the song Turn Your eyes Upon Jesus; it helped him and his young wife to keep trusting Jesus during that hard year.
It was also sung at his funeral and then the words "Looking Unto Jesus" (from a verse in the Bible)was engraved on his tombstone.
I hope no one feels that this is morbid...to me the memories are precious, and the song is so inspiring.
Thank you especially, Pat, for what you have shared heart to heart. May God bless you greatly as you follow Him.

'turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace'
i will forever remember your gift of gentle words and how they turned me around to look full in His wonderul face. and i'm positive i'm not the only one that you've given this gift to that will keep you in their minds and hearts...forever.
your soul can rest assured that the impact you had on me was pure...pat

Only A Cold (Poetry) - 9/29/2012 7:08:14 PM
Poor Darling. Colds can be such miserable things. But what fun you made of the subject, and how you put yourself out there as a little less than perfectly sympathetic until it was you. This was a real sneazer pleaser. Be well fast, Kathy

Only A Cold (Poetry) - 9/28/2012 9:40:47 PM
Funny poetic song about the common cold.
My Pastor has not been sick in many years.
He advises us not to claim it, whatever the illness is.
Most of the time we can pray our sickness away. It is amazing!
So you are healed. Believe it. Happy get well day! Amen
Peace, good health, love and blessings,

Only A Cold (Poetry) - 9/28/2012 4:05:33 PM
I try to stay away from those darn things, and a lady told me how to keep colds and flu at bay. I'm saying to myself, tight, where've I heard that before. Still, what the heck, worth a shot so I took her advice and that has been three years ago and I haven't had a cold since I started on the remedy. When you feel like it send me a message and I will pass it along to you, I'm a firm believer. I have emphysema, weak lungs so you now I'm susceptible. Let me know if you want to try it, it is a simple thing to do, and I'll tell you what the deal is.
