Bang, Bang Maxwell's Silver Hammer... (Short Story) - 7/2/2015 12:29:15 PM
During my teen years dating, I was always mindful of expenses the guy might incur for a movie and meal. Rather shy, new guys got off easy, as I'd order something simple--sometimes just a coke. Anyway, going along with the story, you may not have had enough money to properly treat your date for dinner, but you walked away with lasting music. In the grand scheme of things, preferable.

Bang, Bang Maxwell's Silver Hammer... (Short Story) - 7/2/2015 7:50:11 AM
Those first dates can be difficult, especially when you don't have money in your pocket. I recall all those student years when prices determined where I ate. I recall one time in 1968, my girlfriend, a Scottish girl from Canada, confessed to me that she had gone on a date with a doctor where she worked as a nurse, to dinner at the Taj Mahal Indian restaurant in San Francisco. Sometime earlier, we had passed it up while looking for a place to eat, eventually finding a cheap Italian restaurant in the North Beach district with free wine and a dessert for about $4.50. She told me, "I went with him because I knew you couldn't afford it… Each of our meals cost $65." Ron

The Self - Portrait (Short Story) - 6/29/2015 12:21:37 PM
The hairs on the back of my neck began to rise halfway through your story. You have a way with words and the means to bait your reader through your ability to "paint"...

The Self - Portrait (Short Story) - 6/29/2015 5:41:11 AM
Shades of the twilight zone! Very creative and imaginative. It's good to see good story writing like this on the Den. Ron

The Night the Curtains Fluttered (Short Story) - 6/28/2015 6:11:30 AM
I thought this was going to be a ghost story. I'm so glad that it wasn't. You have a gift for suspense. Would love to read more. You also have an interesting pseudonym. I'm not sure why. But that's your choice and I'll honor that. Ron
