I let the demons go and made this decision for myself. After so much deception you learn quickly. Love yourself!!!

You are quiet right in every aspect. I am a victim of not letting one know, "I love You" until the opportunity had sank into the ocean. Very Good Poem.

Such an ageless beauty, filled with wisdom. Yes, once someone has passed on, it is too late, better before....

JL this is so compelling and so true of many young men with fathers who never taught them how to be men. I'm impressed, you write from the heart.

I can feel the hurt in your work. So many children are hurt by parents that dont really understand how much they need them. A well written piece with a good message.

Strong and intense and the bitterness and frustration comes through loud and clear. I am not trying to defend single parents but I was a "part time father" when my childs mother and I split up when she was only four. However, very seldom a night went by that I did not call her and see how her day was, I picked her up every weekend, and on holidays and all special occasions, and I loved her and I shared a bond of love that continues to this day. Part time may not be the greatest way to be a parent but if you love enough they will still grow up knowing love.

Very powerful message, I hear you, but you know what there are mothers out there who are just as guilty. I know from experience. Nicely put and taken, J L..

Dear JL Daniels, From your poem I can see your talent as a writer and as a poet. Your determination and your foresight will get where you want to be. Be assured that the fight that you have to take on is yours with or without the support of your father. While you are waiting for your book to be published keep writing. This makes you a writer. Love emile
Job Vacancy (Poetry) - 8/31/2008 11:38:45 AM
Right on! A fatherless child. There's way too many of them.
