His Big Feet (Short Story) - 4/5/2012 4:06:23 PM
You write in such a lovely manner, Louisa. Your Mama sounds wonderful, too. She let you make the decision and go home, rather than trying to push you. I'm kind of glad you didn't get that modeling job; you would then be known by your feet instead of by the person that you have become. Connie

A Turning Point (Short Story) - 4/22/2009 2:23:43 AM
Louisa you have taken a journey few people in the world have ever thought about. This journey led you from nurses aide to a dedicated soldier that took her defense of her country to heart. We don't have to carry and shoot guns to defend our country; we can do that simply by instilling confidence, pride, and resourcefulness in others to stand up for what they believe in, and for who they are. There are many people in this country, as well as the world that need this kind of guidance. With you at the helm Spec. 5 Louisa, I am sure that quite a few people are still being counseled. A 10 out of 10 Lousia and thank you for sharing. I really loved reading this. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister, Barbie

I loved this, beautiful write and such an easy read. I love it when I come upon a story such as this that just flows and I read it and am a bit disapointed that it's over, hungry to read more. The silver hair made me think of my mamaw, she had the prettiest silver hair you'de ever imagine. My hair is still black, well except for one white streak that starts just above my right eye. I call this my Mamaw streak. I loved this, Your great Louisa! Blessings, Joyce Bowling

Homeless Veterans (Poetry) - 3/18/2014 2:11:22 PM
The awards of honor given today by President Barack Obama reminded me of this poem I wrote recently. I hope these soldiers of war did not suffer the problems as the veterans here although I'm sure most did. . Only three of 20 were available to receive their awards. So long ago they were not reconginized because they were the wrong color fighting for America's freedom.

Homeless Veterans (Poetry) - 2/28/2014 12:39:12 PM
SO MANY SPECIAL INDIVIDUALS SACRIFICE THEMSELVES TO KEEP OUR NATION SAFE...WE SHOULD AT LEAST TRY TO HELP THEM IN WHATEVER WAY WE CAN. FOR, TO NOT HAVE A ROOF OVER ONE'S HEAD THAT THEY CAN CALL THEIR OWN IS A VERY SAD THING, BUT WHAT'S DOUBLY SAD IS TO NOT HAVE A COUNTRY...WHO CARES. THANKS FOR THIS REMINDER...WELL DONE! Chemical Imbalance (Poetry) - 12/7/2013 12:01:30 PM
I have some tinnitus, probably caused by ear injury during wrestling, psoriasis buildup of skin in my ear canals, or chronic loss of sleep. I find I can lessen the ringing by concentrating on work like this writing or some other very active or creative work. I can also reduce the ringing by getting enough sleep… Something my attendants fail to give me when they get up and leave so early in the morning. A good doctor may be able to find the cause and get it corrected so that you do not have to suffer any longer. I quit football in the 10th grade because it was too rough. Ron

"Little pink houses" sell well in John Mellencamp's songs, but these days you have to make sure you have granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, backsplashes (really?), hardwood or tile floors, and upscale bathrooms… Even in a little "fixer upper," a sow's ear can be turned into a silk purse. It only takes money. Ron

Get a Lawyer (Poetry) - 12/1/2013 12:44:08 PM
A rear-yard lagoon stocked weekly with Rainbow trout--is that too much to ask? Or the convicted tax-return cheater who stashed bags of currency in the walls? Oh, I get it: In the garage which is hidden from view is parked a paid-for red Ferrari. You see, Louisa, some things are worth a second look. But a 150 x 60 property? In Southern California, they could build 4 tract houses in that much space worth $500,000 each. Nice tree though!

Get a Lawyer (Poetry) - 12/1/2013 11:00:02 AM
Well I must be stepping in high cotton now. :-) this property is 150'x60. I don't have a buyer yet. Come on down, it's yours!

Get a Lawyer (Poetry) - 12/1/2013 10:37:38 AM
Oh, I'm not so sure. It's pink with a driveway leading into the front room with lots of trash can storage space in front. And a well guarded by logs. In the south we call that upscale.

Jesus Set the Standard (Poetry) - 7/9/2012 4:48:24 AM
SOME THINGS WE SHOULD PRAY TO FORGET...BUT THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT WE NEVER WANT TO FORGET. SO THOUGH THAT TIME WAS PAINFUL AND SO HARD FOR YOU, WITH IT CAME THE UNDERSTANDING OF WHERE YOUR GRANDMA HAD GONE AND WHERE YOU ONE DAY WOULD GO TOO. BECAUSE WHAT SEEMED LIKE THE END...WAS REALLY THE BEGINNING. JESUS' STANDARDS ARE OFTEN HARD TO SEE, BUT SO SWEET WHEN WE 'UNDERSTAND'. A WONDERFUL WORK THAT I WILL SAVE TO MY LIBRARY. GOD BLESS YOU, LOUISA AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH... JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

A Child's Innocence (Poetry) - 4/30/2012 10:22:44 PM
OH, LOUISA...HOW I DO WISH THAT THE CHILDREN OF TODAY HAD SUCH INNOCENT SPATS AS DESCRIBED. ITS NOT LIKE THIS ANYMORE AND IT'S SHAME...SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL 'INNOCENCE' HAS BEEN LOST...FOR IN THESE DAYS AND TIMES...KNIVES, GUNS AND BRUTAL BEATINGS ARE USED TO 'SETTLE' EVERYTHING. THANKS FOR SHARING AND, BY THE WAY, I LOVE THE NEW PICTURE...ITS A BEAUTIFUL PORTRAIT. BLESSINGS AND FAITH... JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Day before Yesterday, Yesterday, Today; Tomorrow (Poetry) - 3/29/2012 12:44:25 AM
YOU ARE SO RIGHT, LOUISA. I DON'T KNOW ALL OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THIS INCIDENT IN fLORIDA, BUT THIS I DO KNOW - WHATEVER HAPPENED, TRAYVON, WHO HAPPEN TO BE WEARING A HOODIE AND ONLY HAD A BAG OF SKITTLES ON HIM AND WHO WAS FRIGHTENED BECAUSE HE WAS BEING FOLLOWED BY A WHITE MAN AT NIGHT THAT DIDN'T IDENTIFY HIMSELF, DID NOT 'DESERVE' TO DIE! IF ONLY THE OVER ZEALOUS WATCHMEN WITH A GUN HAD 'LISTENED' TO THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE 911 OPERATOR AND 'NOT' FOLLOWED THE BOY. MY HEART ACHES EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT IT AND I AM JUST WAITING TO SEE WHAT WILL BE THE FINAL ANALYSIS OF THIS TRAVESTY. I SYMPATHIZE WITH TRAYVON'S MOTHER. THIS IS SO HEARTWRENCHING AND SO VERY SAD! THANKS FOR SHARING, LOUISA. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Remember 9/11 (Poetry) - 9/16/2011 11:01:40 AM
It's interesting that you foresaw the tragedy before it happened. I knew it was a terrorist attack when I first heard, on the radio driving into work, that the first plane had struck the first tower. What was agonizing was knowing that the people inside could not get out and buildings before they collapsed, and heartbreaking to know that firemen were climbing those stairs in an effort to rescue those trapped above.
