Alone (Poetry) - 9/6/2006 7:13:04 AM
A poem that achieves its purpose, to wrap the reader and take him/her along for the ride. I hope this poet found solace in someone, eventually. No one should be alone - the shadows in the wall loom bigger.

Is this the loneliness of Michael or Sharon you convey? Populations grow larger yet we grow lonelier. Individualism has replaced collectivism. Self interest rather than mutual or community dominates. The first line in Eleanor Rigby comes to mind: 'Ah, look at all the lonely people.' McCartney was onl 24 when he wrote this, young yet already acutely aware of loneliness. Evocative work, Michael.

A cry for help is well-worth the writing in this poem. Sometimes we just need a lended ear and shoulder so we can vent.
Good write and a job well-done!

Very Plath...
The eternal struggle, finding someone to share our lives with.
You have to kiss a lot of frogs.
