You have covered all the ways of describing how wishes and hopes and dreams can come true. It is very beautiful and heartwarming, Teresa that you have that kind of heart and soul.
For Such a Time as This (Poetry) - 12/6/2013 6:58:32 PM
Teresa, remember the scriptures foretell the day will come when tear shall be no more and it is for then that we should rejoice. What a beautiful write with a beautiful heart and soul.

Santa's Wishes II (Poetry) - 12/6/2013 8:44:13 AM
I love humorous Christmas poems. As for the passing on of good tidings in lower insurance rates, both of my helpers have exceeded in getting better, lower cost, insurance through that funny little website. Isn't that a miracle?
I would prefer that my packages were delivered by the Flying Purple People Eater, that way we have fewer mouths to feed, reduce air traffic, and whop those Amazonian monster drones invading every aspect of our lives.
Santa's Wishes II (Poetry) - 12/4/2013 9:13:50 PM

I first dubbed my mini-copter the "Flying Spaghetti Monster," then switched to "Flying Amazon Monster," then settled on "Flying Amazon Munchkin." Great fun buzzing around with you, Teresa. Maybe one of those little flying machines will drop us off a cup of Irish coffee. Yeah. Ed

Santa's Wishes II (Poetry) - 12/4/2013 8:45:10 AM
Hah! I read about that. Weird, but bring it on, it should make for faster, much faster deliveries although the price in the beginning has got to be steep..

Pilgrims and the Indians (Poetry) - 11/22/2013 8:36:22 AM
If only it were true. 95% of indians wiped out, through greed, theft and jealousy. Us europeans took advantage of their goodwill, Washington, Adams... decreed they were to be wiped out. The holocaust never managed to reach this level of annihilation of an indigenous race. The Indians call it Unthanksgiving day. The worse event in human history.
The few that survived only did so by being slaves and abused in the most vile way.
Pilgrims and the Indians (Poetry) - 11/21/2013 10:06:45 AM
You have certainly described the sanitized account although the designated holiday didn't come about until much later.
It still makes me sad to think about how the friendly, naïve Native Americans were taken in by the invading Europeans, robbed of their land and their dignity as "human beings," and eventually slaughtered by the millions for trying to fight back.
Pilgrims and the Indians (Poetry) - 11/20/2013 4:19:28 PM

Bag Lady Angel (Poetry) - 8/31/2013 3:23:21 PM
Where does she hide her wings? How wonderful to know someone like this.
Bag Lady Angel (Poetry) - 8/31/2013 1:12:35 PM
Wonderful thoughts about a wonderful person. I hope she really existed.
I had thoughts of the woman, a Vietnamese émigré, all hunched over with age, who I saw walking the streets many mornings for over twenty years on my way to work pushing her shopping cart filled with aluminum cans. I know she lived in the area with relatively nice homes. I have the feeling that she paid for her home and her childrens' educations through college with those cans she picked up every day.
Bag Lady Angel (Poetry) - 8/31/2013 12:18:08 PM
I don't know about angels, but I think people like her should be treated with more respect. Much more respect.
Bag Lady Angel (Poetry) - 8/31/2013 11:21:37 AM
Beautiful. So oft' the wise are disguised. Not to stop and make friends with the likes is wisdom lost. In this culture of falseness.

You've covered them well––all those childhood superstitions which seemed so magical at the time, but now somehow, pale with the wisdom of age. Makes me wonder how they all got started. I guess, as children, we tend to make up ways to make magic. If they are interesting enough, they passed by word-of-mouth from child to child until they cover the whole of childhood existence.
Thanks for the memories… Oly Oly Umphrey

Flower (Poetry) - 5/10/2013 11:46:50 AM
Everything a flower does, its coloration, its shape, and its smell, is designed to attract insects that will pollinate it so that it can reproduce. Most plants flower to reproduce this way. Over time the most outlandish and beautiful have survived, leaving us with a bouquet of unparalleled beauty.
Unfortunately, today we are genetically engineering flowers to the human taste that will not survive the rigors of nature, nor produce the beauty.
What a lovely poem for a dying breed. I'm watching for the wild ones.

Your St Patrick's Day poem gives tribute to a Saint that I am sad to say most of us know little about. This is the kind of history that needs to be read by all. A hero to many and will remain so as long as we are taught the whole story about him instead a shamrock tale.

What a scent filled lovely memory...
I can see and taste them in your prose...
No one ever gave me a box of chocolates...
but it rather reminds me of what Forest Gump said...

Maybe your box of chocolates always be filled with joy :)

I Love You (Poetry) - 2/8/2013 1:15:08 PM
Yes, I remember those little feet, I recall burping her, I remember loving her. Then my memory fades into nothingness.
Friends (Poetry) - 1/24/2013 8:11:00 AM
Real friends are few and far between. Not only will they stick by you, they will tell you when you are wrong. A good friend will never go along with bad judgment. A friend like that is called an enabler (like a person who brings a extremely obese person food all the time) and they are the worst kind of friend.
Friends (Poetry) - 1/23/2013 6:44:10 PM
Yes! True friendship is a treasure. Nicely expressed, Teresa. Love and best wishes to you,
Friends (Poetry) - 1/23/2013 2:41:39 PM
this is a fine tribute to those who become our friends
Friends (Poetry) - 1/23/2013 8:05:06 AM
Most of us are so blessed to have good friends, may all our friends be blessed!
Friends (Poetry) - 1/23/2013 7:57:16 AM
Friends are someone we can depend
on as they can depend on us for a shoulder...
understanding, wise advise, help keep us straight
when we are down... friends are a beautiful thing to have...
“In your entire life, you can probably count your true friends on one hand. Maybe even on one finger. Those are the friends you need to cherish, and I wouldn't trade one of them for a hundred of the other kind. I'd rather be completely alone than with a bunch of people who aren't real. People who are just passing time.” ~Sarah Ockler~
Blessings to you both...

The Tree (Poetry) - 1/20/2013 7:43:30 AM
well written metaphor though i will shun from saying the tree has a will ... perhaps more, the resolve of nature ...
The Tree (Poetry) - 1/18/2013 9:21:09 AM
Trees are truly wondrous plants. I have often wondered how that little sprig with a leaf has turned into a mighty tree weighing tons. With only the soil beneath, rainwater, the air, and the sun, it is transformed into something so necessary for animal life (providing oxygen and sequestering carbon dioxide) and useful products for so many things.
The Tree (Poetry) - 1/14/2013 6:28:06 AM
What a gorgeous nature poem and metaphor for a purposeful life.
