Sounds like an interesting read. Check out my site here at the den for what may be the opposite side of your book...my journey of self discovery and the women I encountered in it.

Another way of viewing the unholy state of matrimony is that marriage will cure us of this thing called love...Or..Only in California where this cupid resides do we get the truth Marriage is not a word..It's a sentance...Or if you prefer a rhyme.."Met a gal who said make us happy in matrimony- now I'm paying alimony..."..I will read this book because it sounds like it will make me even happier than ever to say ..free at last ..free at last ..thank God Almighty I'm free at last..with a tip of me hat to MLK

Hi Barbara! This sounds like a book that the "Modern" man should get too. I Have been married more than thirty years and still don't see what my wife saw in me other than I was alot younger lol. I also think a woman should research the same way for women as I still can't figure them out either....Best of luck. Please feel free to visit my site here in the "Den"

Barbara Silkstone hits a new high in Do-It-Yourself books. Wanting to know what men really thought, she went out and asked them! Silkstone’s goal was to interview 1,000 men about women, love, and relationships. She buckled at 527 guys, but not before collecting some of the juiciest tales! 527 Naked Men & One Woman - The Adventures of a Love Investigator is: Unique, Informative, Cautionary and Great Fun! I recommend this book for any woman during, before or after a relationship.

The Miami Book Fair was a wonderful experience. I want to thank all those who visited my booth and offered their kind comments. I was pleased to have so many men purchase my book. It was a pleasant surprise. I hope you all enjoy the story of my adventure...it was a lot tougher than it might seem! :)

So very true.
The Anti-Trophy Wife (Short Story) - 6/14/2009 10:20:39 AM
A unique look into our own minds. To me it is not the bottle, it's what's inside; that is where I find love.

The Power of Words (Short Story) - 5/23/2009 3:37:48 PM
Yes the fact is words are powerful but also they are a language and no often two people who know each other well develop their own language and we who hear do not always translate it the way they do.
For example...I know one couple wh talk something like this...
Hey Bit_h, what's for supper tonight?" husband
Nothing if you don't get off your lazy ass and make it.
Now to most that would seem like a not very loving conversation but to them it is acually...
Hey honey, have you already started supper, if not I'd like to take you out for supper.
No I was busy watching the soaps so yes I would love to go out for dinner.
So words can be misconstrued.

Bravo Barbara! "Mean what you say, say what you mean and don't say anything mean." I love it. these are words to live by and I do. I can see that you do too; now we just wish that everyone else did.
Well said and from a well formed heart and mind. Thanks.

527 Naked Men & One Woman (Short Story) - 4/28/2007 9:16:24 AM
This is really awsome, I agree whole hartedly. It is because mothers are forced to work to generate enough money to live that this world is comming to an end.
When a mother has to put her time, energy and love into her work instead of her kids, (for whatever reason. dad left, mortgage or whatever) The kids are the ones who suffer because of it. They grow up feeling neglected, unimportant, and unworthy to amount to much.
It's a sad world sometimes and usually the kids with a mom at home all the time grow up to feel confidant, compatent, improtant and is willing to strive without a fear of rejection or failure, those are who will succeed in life and to live without regrets.
Absolutly stunning words from a man. Masterful insight into a mamas boy. Hopefully this will be my son one day.
527 Naked Men & One Woman - reader comment (Short Story) - 2/11/2007 3:18:29 PM
Hi there Barbara,
I guess I'm gonna have to read this one. I'm dying to know if you left a word out of the title, you know, ...One "Naked" woman.
But me thinks I'm takin' things too literal.
I've read psychiatrist Jung's works. This may be even more profound.
I'll stay tuned. Maybe my dear wife of 55 years marriage--all to me-- can pick up a few tips for us. We're hoping we'll last.
Best wishes,
Richard

Thank you to Karen Quinn, author of The Ivy Chronicles and

I'm usually in a hurry to move on to the next task of the day so I seldom select longer pieces to read. I try to find nuggets of gold. Your title caught me. I started to read and your style is excellent. I was trapped by the brisk and informative writing. I have to recommend this to others. Thank you for bringing Leary alive for me. Your picture of this icon is vivid. I'm going to have to get your book.
