The subject matter in this Before & After was brilliantly written. I happen to love your writing...and look forward to each new post. lindalaw

I Remember the Day Before I Was Born... (Poetry) - 11/21/2008 9:36:59 PM
Hi Todd-Michael Your poem really got me thinking. If you meant the before section to be literally one day before birth, the after section is fine. If you meant the before section to be various days before beautiful things in nature were seen for the first time, I'm not sure suicide would have eventuated in the after section. If it did, why? Much food for thought and a lovely poem Thank you. Liz

I Remember the Day Before I Was Born... (Poetry) - 11/21/2008 8:42:38 PM

Words You Can't Take Back (Poetry) - 8/15/2008 4:59:25 AM
Many of us squeezed in anger that tube...and then we realized that we couldn't take the damn thing we spilled...back inside. Georg

Words You Can't Take Back (Poetry) - 8/14/2008 7:27:36 PM
Hello Todd, Your poem made me cry...but I believe that "Love does not keep a record of wrongs" and seventh chances are still possible. I write my words to my Dad and Mom (so they can't reply fast enough) and tell them all the things I'm sorry for and ask forgiveness, and that has set me FREE. Thank you for writing this, it is reality now I'm a parent in my old age too. Cynthia

Panes (Poetry) - 8/12/2008 6:00:10 AM
A write that grips at the heart and wrings it out. You've captured the pain of loss so well and yet with a resigned note at the end...almost as if you (or the character) has come to a place of acceptance. Chanti

Miss Gracie Greene (Poetry) - 8/12/2008 12:26:57 AM

so well written--much food for thought and sadly, much truth

Panes (Poetry) - 8/11/2008 4:19:38 PM
Sounds if someone is leaving you. So sad, sorry if it does not turn out alright. I know things happen sometimes that cannot be helped.

Miss Gracie Greene (Poetry) - 8/11/2008 3:45:46 PM
This was one of the most honest, down to earth, sadly truthful writings ever!! It does speak of how those who often lead us to God...have fallen so far from Grace... Love and honor does begin here... but WE know that...too bad they don't!... I firmly believe that when that day comes for them...the Pearly Gates shall not open...The bottom line is that we must not allow these men of God who wear sheeps clothing to deprive us of God's love. I wish your words were not so true... excellent writing... lindalaw

Miss Gracie Greene (Poetry) - 8/11/2008 1:33:25 PM
Luckly the physical "HOLY TRIBUNAL OF INQUISITION" can't issue BURN ALIVE Mandamus. So, I am glad that the author of "Hey Holy-Roller" won't be sentenced to DEATH by the holy JURORS of The TRIBUNAL OF INQUISITION for this historical and outstanding poem, "Hey Holy-Roller". Watch out because whether we like it or not, the next President will be under the HIEROCRATIC and Theocractic members of The PLUTOCRATIC CLUB. Yes, THE TWO LORDS OF THE PLUTOCRATIC CLUB MADE THE DEAL FOR THAT. On to the poem: "Hey Holy-Roller" is a true picture of twenty centuries' revelation in our today's social apathy. I am glad I was allowed to read it. I salute You, Poet. Long healthy creative life through a blissful and courageous living. In respect, Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

The Snake Lady of Magnolia, Mississippi (Poetry) - 8/6/2008 7:38:29 AM
Lois, Georg, everyone... LOL...this is just a song and it is fiction... :-) A band here in Austin is in the process of making a Demo of it & I like what I've heard so far... I'm not one of those writers that writes about my own life & experiences... I write to escape and be someone else or be somewhere else for a moment. Peace.

Nursing Home Eyes (Poetry) - 8/5/2008 2:21:47 PM
I've worked in nursing homes too. If the family doesn't visit, they don't get good care. They say oh well, who cares and make sure the ones who do receive visitors get the best care. It doesn't seem fair but that is the way it seems to be. I hope I never end up in one of these.

The Snake Lady of Magnolia, Mississippi (Poetry) - 8/5/2008 2:18:23 PM
Sounds as if you did shack up with her and are content with her too. If that is what makes your life worthwhile go for it. Mama can just rethink her ways.

Loved this write, boy it brings back memories of the baby sitters. When I was growing up my mom always worked two jobs, and often we would have a baby sitter several nights a week...my brother, sister, and myself would often see who could come up with the best tricks to play on her...needless to say we went through many baby sitters over the years! Enjoyed this poem much my friend! Blessings, Joyce B.
