Don't you know? (Poetry) - 8/30/2012 4:43:05 PM
You are loved from afar, perhaps not by those you want
but by those who care.

and quite well.

A quiet interlude along a wooded trail
Always among my favorite memories.
Failing of Men (Poetry) - 8/24/2012 7:31:13 AM
Setting God aside, your poem has a lot to say about our values and the hierarchy of existence we cling to where power and money control instead of intellect.
This is a powerful poem of your own conviction, not that of God. I suggest that you work on a few areas where it can be improved in a second edition, especially if you're going to publish it.
The Cold Place (Poetry) - 8/23/2012 6:48:38 PM
Mary, this poem speaks to me on such an intimate level. "warped sense of gleeful time" our memories are so fallible, and our perseptions as children are very different from those of the adults we become. "and make the light snuf out that cold dark stare." The imagery here and other areas put me there, at the death of childhood. Very meaningful write for me, and obviously for you. I am sure for most. Thank you. Be well, Kathy
Never Goodbye (Poetry) - 8/19/2012 8:36:41 AM
I wish I could tell you it will dissipate and evaporate with time until it hurts no more...but from my personal experience, that would be untrue...our special gifts live on in our memories and our pain sometimes tends to make us jaded questioning the righteousness of it all. But I know now that our Creator does not take our loved ones from us just as I know the day soon will come when I shall see my child again.
Never Goodbye (Poetry) - 8/17/2012 9:56:37 AM
If this pain and sorrow is true, then I hope you're able to move on and leave behind.

Don't you know? (Poetry) - 5/16/2008 6:23:34 AM
Love will come out. When I was a young girl in church a family adopted a little girl. She came to Sunday school one Sunday without smiles on her face and was a different girl the next Sunday. She continually smiled at everyone. A week of love made quite a difference. I just wonder where that girl is now and how her life went.
Beholden that which matters (Poetry) - 10/29/2007 6:52:17 PM
Mary, I always thank God for some exceptional human beings, you are one of them, knowing that love is the most intelligent, wise, precious, of all the important gifts, that the Gods have bestowed on us,and that in their giving we can share with others. You are a wise girl, there is hope for this world yet!
Much Love and Blessing upon you! P.S. in my excitement < I forgot to tell you that it is also well written and phrased. Jasmin Horst

Sorrow Bear (Poetry) - 6/13/2007 8:02:36 AM
Mary, this is heart rendering and touched me this morning and filled me with a knowing that people do care. Your sorrow bear will give your dear friend a reason to hold on and to know we all grieve when the hour of death appears and it's all right to do so. I'm sure she loves the bear & the poem and will forever treasure them. God used you as a angel to bring comfort in a trying time.

Depression (Poetry) - 6/12/2007 8:21:29 AM
Mary, you've captured through images and words, "depression," it's a sad sickness that robs a person of their souls. The sad thing about teenagers being depressed is they can put on such a good face like all is well when they are suffering so much inside. This is a great writing and I'm sure many readers will relate to this.
Depression (Poetry) - 6/12/2007 7:47:45 AM
Mary, You've expressed well what depression is all about, feelings of hopelessness and despair beyond belief. It is a disease that sometimes will, sadly, lead to suicide. My heart goes out to this lost soul and the family she has left behind.
Depression (Poetry) - 6/12/2007 7:05:04 AM
This writing is true and so deep it almost hurts. I love it. Even though we don't like to admit these thoughts to others, these thoughts frequently exist. I respect you for sharing something personal.
Thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Time (Poetry) - 5/20/2007 5:10:12 PM
Mary, yes it's sad but time consumes our every hour, and when you've lost someone we love the pain can be hurtful and depressing and swallows up more of our time because of unhappiness.
