4th of July Threats: bin Laden a Master of Misdirection? (Article) - 12/7/2003 11:34:01 PM
Your article was easy to read and its argument was not difficult to follow. My criticism with your article would be your research and evidence to support your statements. The lack of credible sources for your statements tends to place the article as a whole in the genre of arm-chair detective. The article made no mention that Al-Qa'idah is a renegade drug-running and diamond smuggling operation in competition with its teacher - the CIA who are not at all Christianlike. Everything that CIA does in Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa is copied and mirrored by Al-Qa'idah. And they are quite effective, though not at all Islamic. It's student vs teacher for Liberty vs Power. However, the article made no mention that their theatre of operation is Central Asia-Middle East-Africa, with their remit to rid their countries of CIA installed and maintained kings, dictators, generals, drug lords and other despots. Uncle Sam prefers tyrannical governments over democracies because tyrants sell oil for less and also cooperate to not flood the market causing disruption to oil prices. And in countries without oil, such as Afghanistan or Bolivia, tyrants do not destroy the opium crops that CIA needs to refine into heroin for western consumption. Bin Ladiyn declared their theatre of operation for the purpose of ridding the state terrorists. And he came on video to say that he did not do 9/11. He said one of Uncle Sam's many enemies did that, not he. The videos of Bin Ladiyn after that are all bogus. He was killed in massive state terrorist bombings of Afghanistan. (nothing like backstabbing our former allies against the Soviets, eh?) And now Afhghanistan is rule by an ex-Soviet and growing CIA opium. Bin Ladiyn was falsely linked to 9/11 in order to justify the unlawful and criminal invasion of Afghanistan because the Afghan government under Taliban had outlawed opium production. But he and alot of innocent Afghan Freedom Fighters and their families are now dead, thanks to Uncle Sam, the Terrorist Man. And I say this openly, as a former member of the global state terrorists, that Uncle Sam is dishing out global tyranny and terrorism while trashing our civil liberties and the Bill of Rights.

I don't think it's "smugness" as much as it is partisanship. The Senate held up a lot of this legislation or weighted it down with pork so that it couldn't be approved in the form they passed it. That rancorous partisnship is one of the downsides of our representative democracy. I say that, despite having grave reservations about some portions of both the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security Bill. Like TX Congressman Ron Paul, I believe both Bills should've come with sunset provisions, at the very least. I work in the FDNY and knew many of the 343 guys killed that day. Sadly, it's very possible that a similar attack today would have very similar results. Part of the problem is the full interior attack attitude of the FDNY - "Get there fast and you usually limit the damage and risks." About fifty of the guys killed that day were actually off-duty or relieved prior to that run and they just jumped on the rig figuring that such a disaster would require all the hands available. Unfortunately, there are no extra radios or SCBAs (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) on the rigs, so these guys had neither radios to communicate with or SCBAs to breathe with. Worse still, was the failure of the radio repeater system that allows our hand-held radios to transmit messages in thos cavernous buildings. That repeater failure doomed a lot of FDNY personnel that day. Our inadequate protection against bio-terror remains at 9-10-01 levels, to date. We've been very, very lucky. Fine writing!
