Maggie,
I sent you an email about the cobbett family. Reading this poem I forgot to mention that I was raised in Yorkshire after being born in Cumberland, Maryport to be exact.

You know I always hate when another person takes my comment, well has already said what I was going to say. So I will say this, Karen's comments I must wholeheartedly agree with! Birds are beautiful for they are a part of nature and all things natural are beautiful no matter how gruesome, pesty and etc they may seem. All things in nature; whether we see it or not, have a purpose, a meaning!
Well done and your imagery is lovely, well penned! Glad I dropped by!

Red kites over Eccup reservoir (Poetry) - 4/10/2007 10:15:41 PM
Interesting write. Maybe folks should leave the birds alone, instead of trying to shoo them away. They are not a pest, they are beauty.
Be safe,
Karen

To see us in full flight against the northern clouds.
One of far too many bird species under threat these very sad days, Maggie, but you've penned a wonderful ode to them.
