I totally relate to what you wrote here! I have been teaching kindergarten for four years. Well said! I know you wrote this awhile ago but I am new here and was browsing around the site. :)
If You're Not Adopted (Short Story) - 6/12/2007 8:07:20 AM
How did I miss this one?? Beautiful sentiments here; very well done! I am not adopted myself, but I do write a lot about the topic (particuarly special needs adoption). Feel free to read some of my stories; I think you will be blessed! I know I was in writing them! :)
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Enjoyed this very much and boy, can I relate! I am a first grade teacher and multi tasking is an under statement! Just when you think you are about to find your desk beneath the mounds of papers and material...the cycle begins again! But, I can't think of any other place that I would rather be than my first grade classroom. However, I do enjoy my summer vacations as much as the next person. I enjoy relaxation, planning for the upcoming year, and me time. When the academic year begins...I am also ready to return for another challenging year! Great write and a very heartfelt and true one as well, it is a very rewarding career, and I love it when that light bulb lights up! Enjoyed, glad I stopped by!

What an amazing piece. You are a gifted writer with a well spring of insights and emotions to share.
Not only did this deeply touch my heart it provided a window into Riley's emotions.
Thank you and keep sharing your beautiful light and work
The Green Picnic Table (Short Story) - 4/30/2007 5:47:26 PM
Great story! Better to lose a table than a friend!

Wonderful story, Lynn, and oh, so true -- the multi-tasking, the paperwork, the PATIENCE required. Actually, I'm a teaching assistant, which means I get to do it all for a fraction of the pay. But I wouldn't trade a single moment of it.
Enjoyed this story much!

this brought tears to my eyes so beautiful. May your father's memory and spirit continue to guide you and bring you strength.
My grandfather was one of the most spiritual men on the planet. He had been through great adversity in his life but had a deep faith and love of God. Each time he would see a rainbow he would stop, hug me and start to cry telling me that it was a sign from God that there was hope in the world.
I will never forget the day of his funeral, I was 6 months pregnant and so sad that he was not going to see his first great grandchild. As I was praying for comfort over the cemetary was not one but two rainbows. The most beautiful full double rainbow I had ever seen.
Yes it was a sign and a gift from heaven as you so eloquently said.
Keep writing and if you need to talk at all I am here.
Sending you showers of love and peace,

Pets are wonderful, the same, yet different. I have two kitties born of the same mother. One is a ball of energy, the other layed back and more relaxed. Just like children. Enjoyed your words!
