Netanyahu (Article) - 3/11/2015 6:29:00 PM
Mr Edward Phillips. This is my Opinion : Read the News Obama extends two decades-long national emergency with Iran, despite nuclear talks US official: Iran nuclear deal not limited to decade,... Leak investigation halted amid concerns of exposing U... Kerry: Congress cannot modify any Iran-US nuclear dea... Obama extends executive order originally signed in March 1995. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and US President Barack Obama. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and US President Barack Obama. . (photo credit:REUTERS) WASHINGTON -- US President Barack Obama extended the country's national emergency with respect to Iran on Wednesday, noting that the crisis in relations "has not been resolved" despite high-stakes negotiations between the countries under way over Tehran's nuclear program. The official state of relations has been in crisis for two decades, since March 15, 1995, when President Bill Clinton signed executive executive order 12957 pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Technically, there are two executive orders on Iran declaring states of emergency: order 12957 and order 12170, signed by President Jimmy Carter. Together, they have frozen Iranian assets held in the United States and have prohibited certain transactions with respect to Iran's petroleum products. Progress has been made in the relationship, Obama noted a letter to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio): The interim Joint Plan of Action, which laid the groundwork for nuclear talks, "marks the first time in a decade that Iran has agreed to take, and has taken specific actions that stop the advance and roll back key elements of its nuclear program." "Nevertheless," he continued, "certain actions and policies of the Government of Iran are contrary to the interests of the United States in the region and continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States." "For these reasons, I have determined that it is necessary to continue the national emergency declared with respect to Iran and to maintain in force comprehensive sanctions against Iran to deal with this threat."

Netanyahu (Article) - 3/11/2015 5:26:22 PM
What is this "bad deal" that Netanyahu saved us from? Could it be the same one the 47 Republicans referred to in their letter to Iran? This is no bad deal, no good deal, and there is no deal at all. There are only negotiations that both Netanyahu and the 47 members of Congress are meddling into more likely than not in violation of the Logan Act that forbids such interference. The conduct of American foreign affairs is the province of the U.S. President, not Congress, and not the Prime Minister of any other nation. Netanyahu has his hands full with his own election. If he came here to win approval back home, he botched it with his blundering.

Netanyahu (Article) - 3/11/2015 12:23:20 PM
My sentiments exactly! Love ya! Jane

Netanyahu (Article) - 3/11/2015 6:51:44 AM
It is sad that Netanyahu has to come to the United States to campaign for office. His invitation and appearance shows that the monied in the United States controls politics in Israel the way it does in the United States. Without the money on your side, you lose elections. A smart candidate for US presidency in 2016 would be wise to get him or her self invited to the Knesset for a speech. All that money from Jewish interests would surely clinch the election. But then, with no incumbent president running for a second term, I think the Knesset would be besieged with requests from many Israel supporting candidates from all parties. After all, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and other, Independents, all support Israel, don't they? Ron

My Response to Senator Feinstein. (Article) - 3/3/2015 10:43:08 AM
No one is sent to the U.S. Congress to represent Jews. They are sent to represent Americans. You need to expand your thinking to be more inclusive of us all, not so narrowly focused on Jews. Netanyahu is a tough, hard fighter for Israel. His views are not superior to Obama's, and Kerry's, and all other non Jews--just because he is a dedicated Jew. You need to get past your bias and put a little more trust in the many others who are just as honorable, just as trustworthy as Netanyahu and Jews. Degrading others does not elevate you or Jews.

My Response to Senator Feinstein. (Article) - 3/1/2015 9:24:53 AM
I always have and always will stand behind Israel! Love ya! Jane

What a Problem! (Article) - 2/27/2015 5:23:22 AM
You are seeped in history and very selective in your choice of failure. You have no vision for the future except to maintain old wounds and exacerbate them. For a learned man, your vilification of the president and the difficult decisions that he has to make are a disgrace. Anyone with common sense can see that his administration, in spite of the difficulty of dealing with all the little religious fanaticism going on in this country and around the world (the source of 90% of our problems) there has been no major upheaval or war or even financial collapse. That is quite remarkable considering the bickering going on and petty people with their petty projects claiming all kinds of things. The majority did not vote in the last election. The polls show that less than 30% of the electorate voted. So many have lost interest in political bickering in their daily struggle to make a living and could care less what's happening a world away when they're trying to figure out how to stretch their paycheck another week. They feel helpless to change anything when money is controlling politics. The Republicans won because the very rich funded the Republican candidates and make sure that they provided enough scary half-truths about the president and his party so that their paid and brainwashed people would come out to vote in gerrymandered districts designed to ensure Republican majorities. Ron

Vivre et laisser vivre (Poetry) - 1/11/2015 8:24:35 AM
When we argue, fight, and kill over what our interpretation of what some ancient books say, we are doing our intelligence a disservice. It is time, in the 21st century, that we start examining religious belief for what it really is, an excuse for carrying out our political, monetary and territorial objectives. Ron

The words (Poetry) - 8/6/2014 2:07:26 PM
Words affect another's feelings, and sometimes we speak aiming at another person not knowing how this other person would feel. I think we all need to use our words with caution...if we have no intention of hurting another's feelings. We must remember all of us are unique individuals, and until we are learned by others and from others we need to pay caution to what we post. Sandie

The words (Poetry) - 8/6/2014 11:08:39 AM

Ne vous inquietez pas (Poetry) - 7/27/2014 8:27:00 AM
You say quite a lot in positive ways, but among the positive there is the negative profound, because of the hatred of some which grow into many. I admire your thoughts, and in reading them I feel blessed that war, in it's truest form, has never affected this great (once great) nation I live in. But I fear war, that war in the truest form will come here before I die, and I am not a young man.

L’univers (Poetry) - 7/9/2014 3:54:38 AM
All scientific research is only the fruit of speculation. How this planet came on, the way human beings are born. It is quite scary when you think about it. If in the beginning there was nothing ... I mean absolutely "NOTHING" in the universe, then how did the sun come about? Whence comes the sun? What made the sun suddenly appear in the sky to begin with since there was no air to support its burning fire? What makes the sun continue to burn? What is the universe of the unknown? Where begins this universe? And where the end comes? It's so scary if you think about it, for we really don't know much of anything how it all began. I see more of the Biblical sightings and evidence of their existence everyday through documentary films, even more convincing to me than the scientific big bang theory. We just have to be grateful for this life we own, no matter how we look at it - both scientifically and religiously. And live as we feel - happy or sad - because we really do not know much about the universe. Sandie

Le pouvoir du sourire (Poetry) - 6/26/2014 3:29:20 PM
Hi Emile: I took the liberty to copy your poem to google translate site, and here is the translation of your poem (I hope you don't mind): Still smile will give you the pleasure to know and greet kind people at any time Smile, smile Heart full of joy On a continuous laugh On sustained joy Kindness and love To illuminate our days A smile may be enough Beings can unite Disorder clarify Give hope for the future To the forces of good act The relief they are coming Whenever you smile His body is filled with joy You feel the warmth of life Those who see it are delighted. It clears the evil that invades us We see the love that flows Of all evil he heals us Its radiant power he blesses us Copyright 2011 Emile Tubiana MY COMMENT: Smile and act of kindness work hand in hand, and goes a long way in our lives. You are so right about that! Great poem!! I've got the translation to your poem from the following link: https://translate.google.ca/ Hope this is helpful to you and others. Sandie :o)

La nuit (Poetry) - 6/14/2014 7:25:05 PM
English This time I can provide the English translation Thank you Sandie! The night has recently expanded its sails Its beauty, his grace and his paintings On the large sky blue and radiant In the dark they say farewell She asleep with his charm and softness His goodness and his sweet joy animate our hearts It influences our lives and romantic souls Its stars make us happy and happy Human beings should no longer be concerned They sing to the young and the old The night and the stars that shine in heaven And extend their wonderful silence Who can resist the joy and happiness That penetrate in depth They thrill our souls and our beings And clarify our thoughts and our well-being The joy and happiness give us the warmth Animate our lives and fill our hearts They give us the peace and serenity And awaken the souls of those who are willing My comment: Beautifully Magnificent!

Silence and Patience (Poetry) - 6/14/2014 5:42:26 PM
Hi Emile: This is very similar to the one I have translated for you from the Google's translation. I'm glad you are re-posting this! When silence becomes noisy then it is not the silence that we want for ourselves. Yes, everyone has some goodness within oneself. No doubt about it. Sandie

Silence et patience (Poetry) - 6/14/2014 4:08:37 AM
I've used the google translator to translate your poem into English so I and everyone else can understand this, and it translated as follows: In our time the human being no longer has patience and no longer uses the silence. Everything is noisy. Being flourishes in silence Without education and without science What matters in life And forget the evil and envy Good things come slowly They come to us very slowly One believes or does not believe The key is to move in small steps Do not rely on what you understand Even if your words create joy or grief The key is to wait until You find awakened and aware Every being is good in its bottom More valiant than what we see For us to be so forgiving and good Although time seems long we This depends mainly on our love Which springs from the heart every day Shaped very nice fluid Which creates an unforgettable feeling MY COMMENT: A nice poem! Thank you for sharing!

Silence et patience (Poetry) - 6/14/2014 2:23:12 AM

La liberté dans ce monde (Poetry) - 6/13/2014 2:57:39 AM

A wonderful story. I'm not sure if I got all of the story right. It's interesting to see that desert people can be so wealthy. But 1001 camels seems the extreme where water and food are scarce. Ron

Rough translation of my French poem “Qui croire” (Whom Should We Believe) (Poetry) - 1/26/2014 10:31:13 AM
The essence of all faith is repetition. It starts with children and is carried through life until the dying man or woman asks for that faith to save their souls in the end. True indoctrination, my friend. Ron

Wake Up! (Poetry) - 12/6/2013 6:38:22 PM

The WorldToday (Poetry) - 11/22/2013 8:33:59 AM
You are so right, the world is changing quite rapidly, and for all the troubles that we see daily in the news, for the better. Like it is always been, most people are trying to get by… Trying to make a living in a difficult world where they have little or no say in how the world around them operates. For those that are able to retire and vegetate in front of the television, they are the lucky ones. I like what you say about giving. I find it an obligation to help out wherever I can and however I can. I can't save the world, but by working with a few that I know and making their lives better, I feel quite fulfilled and not just staring at the television until I'm gone. Ron

The WorldToday (Poetry) - 11/21/2013 4:58:50 PM
Valid points. Yet I feel our easy chair lives have lost quality and sold out for quantity. The price... Indeed, unconditional, uncorrupted, love is the key. And being self sufficient, yet always carrying you injured brothers.

The WorldToday (Poetry) - 11/21/2013 12:00:03 PM
This poem tells a realistic view of the ways in which the world and the life we once knew has changed, nothing stays the same. Even after generations has passed and gone, this world or the universe as we know it just keeps on turning. Loved reading every verse of this poem. Have A Great Day.

The Jury Has Spoken (Poetry) - 7/15/2013 6:45:56 AM
A wonderful approach to a vexing problem. I would only add this. To single someone out as a threat by the way they dress or the way they look needs to be banished from our thoughts. We have suffered prejudice too long and we all know that it is wrong. Finally, for someone to carry a gun for “protection” when their only purpose is to report potential crime in the neighborhood, does a disservice to human life. Regardless of the circumstances, once that gun is fired in anger or in defense, and the bullet strikes a vital organ, someone has death on their hands for the rest of their life. Is it worth the cost of carrying a gun? I think not. Ron
