Very well written and fascinating but you and I disagree over nationalism being a "bad thing" and internationalism being "good." // Many proponents of internationalism naively believe that nationalism is wrong because tribalism is dangerous and leads to disenfrachisement. In fact, tribalism is a basic part of human nature. Humans naturally and ineluctably divide themselves up. My father, who served in the U.S. navy during WW II & Korea ('43 - '51) used to say, "When the U.S. & British forces were under attack it was the Allies against the Nazis. When it was just the Allies in port, it was Yanks against Brits, when just the Americans were in port, it was Army against Navy and when just the Navy was left it was Aviators against CBs and sailors. I can attest to the same thing in New York's Fire Department (FDNY) - "Truckies" or Ladder Company guys square off against Engine guys and vice versabecause its an easy and obvious way to divide ourselves up. Firefighters call each other "Brother," as in brother firefighters, but a very familiar, oft used expression is "Brother my ass." I think that's honest, because there really is no brotherhood of man, not really. /// Fine writing, like I said, despite our basic disagreement.

This is a wonderful honor. Laurels must feel good! Congratulations to you. Blessings to you for using your way with words as a means for the desire for peace. I can't imagine what it must be like for the powerless people of your country in their persecution...like many other nations. I admire poets who are constructive rather than destructive and use their gifts to pave roads to freedom. Seems this is you.
