The man and the Witches (Short Story) - 8/28/2007 2:48:06 PM
Very good piece indeed and shows your wonderful imagination at it's best, only suggestion I would make is maybe break the paragraphs down a bit more and use a larger font easier for us to read. Other than that loved it... Fee PS> Have you considered a part II to this tale?

My Children (Poetry) - 11/12/2008 1:14:05 AM
Your heart shines bright like the sun because it sets inside each and every one of those kids' hearts and rises above in front of their faces.I like the last stanza in your poem in terms of you saying to the world that these are your kids and you will love them unconditional as if they are your own.Children have indeed different learning disabilities and they should all be treated with love and respect and not have to experience anyone belittling them.If you ever have kids of your own, they will be lucky and truly bless to have a wonderful mother in their lives like you have been to these children, take care Edwin

What is love? (Poetry) - 7/15/2008 4:22:41 PM
You are quite a romantic girl. Love means so much to you and you have expressed it here. Everlasting love is to be admired and should be had by everyone at the right time. Your writes are so sentimental and coming from a young person amazingly so good.

Tribute to a Granddaughter’s Grief (Poetry) - 7/15/2008 4:20:06 PM
Dear, it happened to Shannon my granddaughter too. She wants to be a vet, is now in college, but lost her 13 year old cat Beautiful 2 years ago. Brought her home in a blanket too and her dad buried her near their back yard garage. I felt so bad for Shannon that Sunday she lost her favorite pet, never has been replaced yet. Her dad says no more cats.

Dear Emily, by chance I came across your Den. I read a few poems, one of them "Born Free" and this one “My Children”. Both poems are great and nicely written. The latter is especially touching for me as through my work I was exposed to the young handicapped, it breaks my heart. You are right, we feel helpless when we see their silent suffering. Thank you for sharing and exposing this subject. Emile

Indeed, whether we enjoy a walk in the forest, sea, time with family, we all have our own unique feelings.... The moon the perfect phase for romance and candlelight. I do not see the world as others think I should. I see it how I want, through my own eyes. This is me. <--- where were the likes of you when I was a kid? Best poems are written in a few minutes, as they are real and evolve from the subconscious.. When one thinks about their poetry, it's like knowing your asleep, but that means you're awake. Stories and poetry that i've been asked to submit. Have all been written without thinking... Shows the depth of your lovely heart..Never lose it!

What is love? (Poetry) - 9/9/2007 8:57:00 AM
What is love? Simple. Love is fickle . . . Big time . . . Nice poetry, but love is what you make of it and in the modern world fickle seems to fit more than any other thing I can think of . . . Love is also selfish . . . There are as many bad traits to love as there is to good one . . . Me? I'm in love, and have been for quite a long time, but then I have been in love before . . . Fickle, thass whot I'm talkin' 'bout . . .

Life lessons (Poetry) - 9/6/2007 12:15:40 PM

Writer's block... (Poetry) - 8/22/2007 6:28:44 AM
I can identify with this poem. I have more and more 'writer's block' moments, but I know the reason. When I'm inspired by something, the block disappears and a river of creativity flows. The problem is that I have reached a time in my life when I am not so easily inspired. But still...every now and then...it comes back, and it's always a thrill when it does. Keep at it, young poetess!

We all know how you feel Emily and I agree with Paul below. When we write it absorbs us completely and if there are too many other distractions around us, too many other things that need our attention, then it becomes more difficult. It will pass and the writing will flow again, best wishes. Sue

Writer's block... (Poetry) - 8/22/2007 3:10:17 AM
Emily, You know, I thought I had writers block also but after really thinking about it came to the conclusion that my time was just very limited and didn't afford me much opportunity. When your mind is being pulled in ten directions at once it gets quite difficult to center on just one thing. I think that one of our biggest problems is trying to dazzle the reader with words when just being simple or being ourselves will more than do. Nice write and hope your muse finds you soon or you find it. Bless You Always, Paul.

There are rebels out there that dare to go beyond standards. I recall a man like Bruce Lee enjoyed philosophy, poetry etc. Poetry takes heart, and above all the bravery to say what you want to say. When Bruce Lee used his own new form-well you know the rest of the story.Enjoyed

Hi Emily, This poem is VERY good. Painful, but sometimes it helps to write the pain away. Keep writing, I will read more. Ed.

It's poems and prose like this that help keep poetry alive!

My Barbaric Yawp (Poetry) - 8/9/2007 6:29:50 PM
barbaric yawp! it makes me think of the scene in dead poets society where the teacher gets the student up and makes him sound his barbaric yawp and ends up making him write a crazy poem while spinning in circles... yeah... this is me. i do not think any two barbaric yawps can be the same. i really dont. and i think you have done well to come up with such thoughts and imageries. i adore that you have decided against being a monarch. it is a beautiful creature but it seems that everyone else has forgotten the beauty in other creatures as a result. i am what i am and what i am needs no excusing.

NoONE returns (Poetry) - 8/9/2007 6:25:13 PM

Emily, I love the world you paint. If only we could all color it to perfection. A beautiful poem and wonderful talent. Bless You.

Look at Rodin's "The Kiss:. The lovers there are immortal now. Artists paint their emotions. You have the guift of animating words into a painting. Susan

A wonderful tribute to an equally wonderful creature of nature. The changes of the turtle's habitat over the span of 250 years would have left the turtle with a lot to discuss, if he would have had the means to do so. Then again, how much did he really see, considering the slow, carefree nature of turtles? A sweet tribute, Emily. Thank you. Jill

What a fantastic poem. heartfelt, honest, and revealing. I love it.

NoONE (Poetry) - 7/28/2007 4:18:41 AM
I like it, but it is, as you pointed out, depressing and evokes a sense of frustration. By the way, did you mean to say, "hope NoONE finds you?" rather than doesn't find you? I like the style; very creative.

My Barbaric Yawp (Poetry) - 7/25/2007 4:30:39 PM
I think we have a serious work in progress here! I hope to see more mental flexing in the future Emily. H.J.
