last night at home (Short Story) - 7/1/2005 6:46:15 AM
This is very sad to read. But it's so true. "Home is where the heart is." You'll always be "home", and with your parents, as long as you have memories. I'm sorry for your loss, April

XXVI - A Drunks Story (Short Story) - 3/19/2005 9:30:33 AM
Wonderful, heart felt story... which an alcoholic can appreciate... I use to cherish all my "chips" 30 day, 60 day, 90 day, 6 month, on and on. I had them all up to five years. I made a "trophy case" for them. Then I realized, that they weren't my sobriety. Yes, I earned them... but I needed to give it away, to keep it... So I started giving these chips away to people celebrating the same milestone... I'd tell them, that maybe the strength the coin gave me, would be given to them. I no longer "worship" or cherish those coins... but I still have one on my key chain... it is a 24 hour chip... everyday is a celebration... my 10 years of sobriety wouldn't have taken place without 24 hours... one day at a time... and if I ever did slip, those ten years would be lost because of 24 hours... I cherish the amount of time I have acquired... but I honor those 24 hours... best wishes, with your recovery...

XXVI - A Drunks Story (Short Story) - 3/17/2005 8:25:34 AM
hI, THOUGHT PERHAPS YOU WOULD LIKE A NICE WORD FROM UK WHERE I AM FROM, BUT AM IN SWEDEN AT THE MOMENT.SO THE WORD WILL BE SWINGLISH. I ENJOYED your story. . you should keep was "fun" i have not got the time to read all the stories on this site, which is new to me, but i chose yours and i dont regret that, Your comments here and there made me laugh too, that is your confidence that needs boosting a bit,,get the comments written in a note book instead and carry on with pure stories. you have got a style that is well worth improving , keep up the good work. Best wishes from Rita ..I have just started out too.

XXVI - A Drunks Story (Short Story) - 3/16/2005 8:19:13 PM

livin' in lookin' back (Poetry) - 9/4/2006 5:25:57 AM
Life Preserver? Me thinks you need to get yourself a neck brace so you will be forced to look only forward and instead of falling back into the same old sad story, perhaps you can write yourself a new one and eventually live within it. By holding on to the past we destine ourselves to fall back into those same patterns and to live the same heartaches over and over again. Take care, Sherry
