Awesome, I'm using it for my fanily devotion tonight

Mummy, Can You Pray for Me? (Article) - 5/28/2002 9:19:57 AM
That Philip saw the option of asking you to pray on his behalf is amazing. God works in mysterious ways through people that we sometimes least expect Him to work through (whether in sickness or in health). Philip may not know, but I'm sure his small request encouraged more people than he would have ever known. A portion of your writing reflected Luke 11:13 and that, to me, is what (being born again) is all about. Thanks. Reading your article led me to find the verse that states "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." Little did I know that that same verse (James 5:16) begins by stating "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed." All of which I needed to be reminded of. So Thanks again and pray for me too.

This is awesome. It is wonderful to see that you took something so powerful from our parents home. Mom and Dad never let a day go by without praying for us and I am so glad that my nephew Phlibid (that's what I call him) has the pleasure of seeing and hearing his parents pray. Imagine how our world would be if more children had access to this awesome experience. There is nothing like the power of prayer. Keep doing what you are doing sis. I is so proud of you:-)

This struck a familiar cord with me because I also have young children. They have surprised me by asking me to pray from them when they have nightmares or are feeling ill. It constantly reminds me that one of the greatest responsibilities of a christian parent is to teach our children about Christ, and demonstrate his love, justice and sacrifice to them through how we parent them. Well said Andree!! Keep up the good work. Gary

Another perfect 10 for me. The CLUE at the end is a keeper for me. I love your straight talking and simple style. I am certain that many will be touched and moved and transformed by your testimony on paper!

Another wow! Better than Tom Clancy! I was not only absorbed, but intrigued and moved. I am convinced that I read this at the right time - God ordered my steps! After my third week of being unemployed for the first time since my teens, while searching for jobs and remaining determined to stay busy and prove myself, the crashing realisation came home yesterday - God wants me here for a purpose. I wants to me to be still and to come into His rest. I didn't realise how much control I had taken over my own life. I hadn't realised how much I was living by my own agenda. Now I'm reckoning with Jeremiah 29:11. God has purpose for me and I must wait upon him and rest in Him, rest from my own works and allow him to move me into His purpose. Thanks so much for sharing this, Andree, and God bless you! Much love, Dionne

Wow! Andree, I'm so blessed by this - I've only just got around to reading it and I'm glad I did. Thank you for sharing this... I think it's wonderful. That might be because I'm your cousin & biased. But this scores a 10 for me. I'm excited about your time at home and what is coming out of you... now that I am at home I realise the value of spending more time with God!... Anyway, this should be a review, so I should stop... You have a few typos - I'd be happy to proof read your stuff for you to catch those little things. Love and MUCH encouragement. Dionne

I understand. What a wonderful piece of inspiration. I agree this writing takes you along for each event as it unfolds. It feels as if we are side by side but for some reason it seems like there is more to come. Don't stop Andree, your writing gets more encouraging with each word. I love it. Myrna

eslyn, again. that was an excellent article in my opinion. moreso than it reads well, it speaks well. i'm not trying to be poetic with that comment, it's just that i'm one of those who doesn't like to read and your article feels more like i'm listening (walking around in your head or heart). turns out i had this same conversation with david (our brother) on sunday night. i've already forwarded the url to him stating i felt you expressed this sentiment better than i did when i was talking to him. anyways. i can almost tell that your not rushing and that this is more a product of being in a place where you can catch up with yourself and all you've been through or done, a place where you can catch up with God moreso perhaps than you were able to when you were elsewhere (ie: rush hour). --errol

Eslyn, That was a great article. I can definitely add my two cents to being downsized. God is good all the time and He knows how to position us to reach our destiny. We will have to chat some time. Maybe I should write an article too? Earl

What a nice way of encouraging people to maximize time spent studying the Bible! All of us have nuggets of truth tucked away in our notes that need to be re-discovered. Great article!

WOW! And you wonder what your "thing"is. My beleif is that the Lord told you a long time ago and recently the Lord has provided you with the time to do your "thing", Which is His thing. To God be the glory. The rating of a 7 is done on purpose. I know you. This is the beginning of many great writings. If you get all 10's now what will you look forward to. Job well done.

I love it! The simple truth of the timelessness and the timeliness of God's Word and Truth are so evident. The author conveys the reality of a walk with God, and the development of an intimate relationship, that over time takes many turns, but is so fulfilling. The Word of God is a treasure by itself, but as the author shows, when it's interwoven into the fabric of our lives, it enrichesus and those we interact and share with. God bless you. Keep up the good work

I normally don't "shoot from the hip" with feedback but "shooting from the hip", I really like this snippet. I appreciate the honesty and courage that I think it took for you to share this part of you -- your relationship with God. And the fact that it's a snippet made it all the easier to digest and I believe use. Very Nice Job.
