Nice job, Miles. I wonder what your thoughts are about more 'modern' people watchers, the technocrats who watch us on satellite and street camera monitors, our shopping habits and internet research. Best, Jan

People Watcher (Short Story) - 6/14/2008 12:40:27 PM
I have just one word for this article: "Exemplary." Yes, man's inhumanity to man abounds, but I am hopeful that "the signs of the times" will point many to the heart, and not the thing called passion.

Love Letters and a Hawaiian Lei (Short Story) - 9/13/2007 11:01:58 PM

Love Letters and a Hawaiian Lei (Short Story) - 9/5/2007 1:39:18 PM
A very sweet story. It reminds me of my mother when we were growing up. A widow, raising five of us children on welfare. She always made time for us and even wrote us poetry when we were grown. I miss those days. She is with Jesus now and out of suffering in this old world. That is such a blessing to know. I will see her again someday soon.

What Never To Do In A Hospital (Article) - 9/10/2007 6:52:16 AM
Good stuff, Myles! Here's a good opportunity for electronic inovators to develop and sell a TV or a remote system that requires NO MORE THAN THE WAVE OF A HAND to change channels up or down! It's SICKENING that hospital authorities haven't discovered this culprit, and worked to eleminate it and the causes! ! ! - Bill

Instantly Spot & Kill Spyware (Article) - 9/3/2007 11:09:46 AM
MAHALO, MYLES! After receiving your kind comment, stopped by out of curiosity. Was very impressed! The sheer fact of your using citations of others to open your 'pieces' tells me that you are a well-read, probably self-educated person. This particular topic drew me in, as just the other evening, while online, a SPYWARE POP-UP kept INVADING, then did a FREE SCAN, told me I had many SERIOUS PROBLEMS, and when I clicked to FIX them, kept downloading some 1532.exe files ( . -1,-2,-3,-4 ) into my DROPBOX... as I was: skeptical, untrusting, and SCARED - I DELETED THEM ALL! Will now check out the #1 LINK you list here. Thanks again! ALOHA! Tom.

...The Flamethrower's Son (Poetry) - 6/13/2013 7:44:33 AM
I think of the flamethrower as one of the most hideous weapons of man, along with land mines. To be burned alive when you are hiding from bullets must be a terrible way to die. And you can't put your hands up in surrender or run out to try to escape, because you'd be running into the flames and sure death anyway. I hope that flamethrowers will be banned from warfare forever. Ron

Dreams on Hold?... (Poetry) - 6/16/2008 11:44:19 AM
Excellent advice, Myles, well done - the problem with me is being told that whatever dream I have is stupid - that I will never amount to much - that I would always fail - how to destroy the tapes in my head? Plus, can't afford to go anywhere, do anything - no, I'm sorry - just having a rough patch. Pray for me - (((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Dreams on Hold?... (Poetry) - 6/16/2008 9:42:27 AM

The WindMills (Poetry) - 6/14/2008 2:00:35 PM
Very good excellent advice. We need to support each other and let those who are doing wrong in this world know it. I am trying to tell my very good friends what they are doing wrong and would accept them to tell me what I am doing wrong. Advice can always be taken by all. The Golf Prayer II (Poetry) - 6/14/2008 4:41:33 AM
Sometimes, when considering the game of golf, many prayers are needed. My Dad always tells stories of how he would become so frustrated that he'd wrap the club around a tree. That is an expensive bit of frustration! I enjoyed this. Thanks, Jill

Out of Afghanistan...Homeward Bound (Poetry) - 6/13/2008 12:40:39 PM
Myles, your lament and celebration are so poignant... Yet so brave and confessional. I am proud to know you and to learn that you are homeward bound, at last! Your tour is the longest I've ever known about, and it is more than time it ended. A question: Did you meet Matt Lauer, of NBC News' Today Show, recently? He had this, 'Major,' on camera with him while there the other day, and....... ? Inquisitive Bill

Post Mortems (Poetry) - 6/11/2008 3:37:07 AM
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! I salute your courage and determination. I am encouraged that we have a candidate for president who goes up against the odds; one who has served in the military and knows the world-wide threat of a few nations to replace the U.S. as the leader of the globe. Our future is in the hands of people like him. . Having military service as a part of me, I know what others like to hide, or never bothered to learn. - Bill

She kept faith in God and her devotion to God gave her strength & encouragement to live her life daily. I'm sure in God's eyes, she shines like a lovely angel! A great write.

Yes, Myles, it's good to see your work, again, and know that you've returned safely, once again. Your poem is excellent and in great balance. Too many neglect the development of their mind and what it was designed to do for them. Thinking is free, challenging, and better tan a witnessed sports event. How wasteful we are with our brains. Glad to hear that you stay in great physical shape. Thank you for your service to our country! - Bill

For Diana: Talented Dreams as Goals... (Poetry) - 12/4/2007 7:20:26 AM
I really enjoyed this piece. There's a great sense of release instilled this poem. It's as if you're watching firsthand the nuturing of daughter as if she were a endangered species of bird. Then observing her growing stronger and developing a purpose for her life like wings. While her father is the releaser who has a great love to let go of her so she can fly away and share her dreams with the world. I commend you on your great words as a father and do take your bow brother!
