So glad we don't have to be perfect to be led by God. Beautiful poem Beth.

Be not a follower, but a leader be. Write from your heart and mind, and not from some unknown, he.

Get it out, girl...it's about time you reveal the pain for where it originates. I'm proud of you. I hold you, it's okay to cry...be well, Beth. Blessed Be.

If this is a cry for help, seek it now. Monsters and demons have their place, but not in our heads.

Have faith, get better. If you haven't seen a Doctor please do, IF this poetry is real. If its not real you have captured the essence of a troubled girl. Outstanding!

Dark poetry indeed. I have the feeling of someone deeply troubled. I only hope that the poetry can help. Reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe's writing of the deep torment he felt.

Good to see you posting again, Beth...I've missed your dark poetry. It's good therapy when you look back in reflection of the dates it was posted. Be well. Blessed Be.

You're head is in a lot better place now. There is a whole lot of depth in this one too.

What I'm Worth 2007 (Poetry) - 8/29/2012 6:57:52 AM
Your poem carries a positive note. And the fact that your posting it now tells me that things are much better.
Psalm 55 (Poetry) - 8/27/2012 1:50:16 PM
Beth, you have been so expressive in this poetry, and it strikes me not as pitiful or self-sympathy, but more stunningly descriptive: I deeply appreciate these lines: "his speech is smooth, his heart is war/His words are oil and they are drawn swords". So powerful. The whole piece is huge. ~~ Diana
Fence Posts (Poetry) - 8/27/2012 1:46:19 PM

Just Shy of Importance (Poetry) - 8/27/2012 1:44:07 PM
This has a kind of beauty to me. That beauty is in the lines: "I can't do this alone/but I guess I have to try," and "I don't know what I want/or even what I need/I guess it doesn't matter now" . . . those lines have a wounded strength in them. Your title is immense. ~~ Diana
What I'm Worth 2007 (Poetry) - 8/27/2012 1:39:14 PM
This holds great honesty, Beth. Very touching two lines: "To those who care/If I live and breathe," and self-recognition contained in the last two lines. "I know not what I'm worth' contains some question, as in possibility that you may be of worth, as you absolutely are. ~~ Diana

I sense a small baby, helpless in a bed. But then I have the feeling that it is me sometimes. I hope that it is not you. Ron

February 2010 (Poetry) - 9/20/2010 8:17:21 PM
You have perfectly described 'those moments' when the world disappears and is nothing for a short while...and then we return, and I wonder at times if it was worth coming back to.

There's no doubt in my mind that you are the Latter-Day Psalmnist. The Good Book is a good source of inspiration for your work. I like to pen what I call "Hard Gospel" now and then.
