It could have been your baby! (Short Story) - 7/30/2007 12:13:34 AM
Rene,
As an author/writer/journalist I must say I really liked the work. Strong sentance structure, good prose, and solid research. I myself have this problem with my own children. While they are with their mother, they are allowed to eat what ever they want. Their stepfather is so picky, he has the crust cut off his own bread. He refuses to eat vegies, fruits or fish. His excuse is simple. Through vaccines and vitimins he need not worry about the food he intakes. My children have pasted this idea into thier own little brains.
Just tonight I fed my children vegie soup and Salmon. The salmon was cooked and served seperatly. My daughter became very ill and "required" something else to eat due to the tummy ache burning deep inside. I of course nursed her tummy ache away with love and a swift kick in the bottom. The thought of spending the day cleaning floors sufficed enough for her tummy ache and her dislike for soup and fish to go away. LOL.
My point is that, children are being raised on McDonalds, Burger King and oh my favorite, Subway. People often forget Subway is filled with preservatives and other junk. I guess compared to Mcy'D's, Subway looks great. Somewhere in my 3am rant I was trying to make the connection about non organic food and taking a pill for health.
THX,
KC
