Dealing with Illegal Immigration: A Crucial Mandate, not an Option (Article) - 8/1/2009 6:34:37 PM|
This is a very sore subject with me. I live in Texas, where there seems to be a very high percentage of illegals living here; I hear Spanish all the time, and I am sick of having to give up my rights, just because they are too f'ing lazy to learn English (yet THEY expect US to learn THEIR language)! I don't even THINK so! My grandfather came to America when he was fourteen from Croatia (then Czechoslovakia) because of World War I; because of this, he HAD to learn English and get a job IF he wanted to live here! He did it; it wasn't easy, but by God, he DID it, and did it the RIGHT way! I can remember my twin sister asking him to tell her a word in Croatian; he'd literally turn red in the face and tell her, quite vehemently, I might add, "G.D. it; I'm an AMERICAN. I'm in America; therefore, I speak ENGLISH!!" There seems to be a growing problem with illegals taking away everything that is ours, and I am TIRED of it!! SEND 'EM BACK, anchor-babies and all; NO EXCEPTIONS!! If they can't abide by our laws and LEARN OUR LANGUAGE, then they DON'T need to be here, PERIOD!! Powerfully penned article; saving; thanks for posting!
Love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
I worked with illegals and they did NOT make it easy for me. They'd tell me in Spanish to learn Spanish; I would tell them (in Spanish), "Tu es en America; Ingles!!" CRAZY!!

An Essay on Public School Discipline (Article) - 1/16/2008 3:37:59 PM
Teachers need to be teachers, not underpaid babysitters, and parents need to discipline their kids!! Don't beat them to death, but let them know that they will be punished for any wrongs they may do, and don't be afraid to spank if they get out of control, particularly if they are little! And don't be afraid to ground them, take away their privleges if older!! Time outs or talking to them like friends does NOT WORK!!
Well done! :)

Interesting write. My dad never believed us, either. He'd punish us again once we got home and 'confessed'. I was basically a goody-goody though. Others weren't and even the paddlings didn't correct their behavior. Only for a short time. They couldn't wait till they were 16 to quit school.

I enjoyed reading this one, think I could relate to it a little. I liked a cluttered desk so I would always appear busy, even when I was not.....
