Why Children Don't See Color . . . Unless We Allow Them To (Article) - 5/1/2008 6:28:47 AM
I don't know that I necessarily agree... I wholeheartedly agree with most everything you said, except I think children do see color and differences. I don't think those differences or colors really matter to them unless they are fed those prejudices from an outside source though. At least that has been my experience.
Don't Rush Tomorrow (Article) - 9/26/2007 4:28:17 PM
Good advice! It still applies to an "ole" guy like me!
Thanks and have a great day.
Why Children Don't See Color . . . Unless We Allow Them To (Article) - 9/19/2007 3:54:17 PM
Words that need to be spoken in every land.
How is it that we can love a rainbow with all of its colors and not love the beauty of the colors of man? A wonderful post.

I think the word "nigger" should be banned from the English language; it's a terrible, awful, ugly word, and I remember hearing my granny using it whenever she talked about people who were black. She also didn't like Mexicans or Japanese; she was extremely prejudiced. Me, I try to accept people of ALL races, there's bad in ALL races, but I try to be RESPECTFUL to people, regardless of who or WHAT they are. I try to treat people as I would want to be treated. You have penned a very informative, eye opening write, Dahveed; very well done! BRAVO!
May I track you?
(((HUGS))) and love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
The only problem I have is with the Mexicans not speaking English around people who don't speak (much or no) Spanish; I think that is flat out rude! Don't GET me started on how I feel about illegal immigration....BRRR!!
New Beginnings (Poetry) - 5/1/2008 6:35:42 AM
Beauty written within these words...
Amazing how much imagery you elicited with just a few short lines.
P.S. I just read your bio. Kudos to you for all that you do! For being a voice who otherwise would not have one... and for becoming what you are today, despite what I am sure was not the optimum circumstances for growing up.
Peaches and Cream (Poetry) - 10/23/2007 6:22:51 AM

I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat another peach in quite the same way, thinking about your poem.

Turn On and Tune In (Poetry) - 9/18/2007 2:03:57 PM
Tune in, let the media dictate what WE should hear - all the ugliness, increase our fear --- what happened to the goodness that surrounds us? Oh, yeah - not good for ratings. I'm a firm believe in praise begets goodness. Show more violence, get more violence.
But, indeed we best wake up before the show ends.

Turn On and Tune In (Poetry) - 9/17/2007 6:23:42 PM
One powerful write my friend and a look at the real world! Many may live in a bubble or with blinders on, but our world does seem to be crumbling around us! Nothing surprises me anymore! Well done! Welcome to the den!

Well written work. Very enjoyable to read and take in....
That horizon holds our eternity, where, your wishes will come true. There children willbe safe and color will not matter. There will be no hatred or jealousy, no wars or famine. Once again, welcome.
