Just wanted to thank you for your comments on MENGELE'S DOUBLE. For some reason the e-mail format doesn't work. I've been struggling with whether to self-publish MENGELE for several years; publishers don't like the dream sequence at the beginning. I know that's a cliche, but the real Jodie was sleeping when she was awakened by her producer's call. A few more reviews like yours and I'll take a chance.
Thanks,
Dave

three hearts, three stories and views of life that stir your heart to remember what's important what's been forgotten and what still remains true .
The compilation of three friend's outlook and their drive to voice what made them rise above adversity is refreshingly bold, yet gentle and genuine.
I thought of so many who talk about writing and excuses stops them short. But these three friends penned their thoughts to remind us all that though tough times abound, God's love triumphs over all.

With A Little Help (Book) - 4/6/2005 6:37:53 PM
Michelle, I told Karen I would also buy a copy. And I proudly stand up, next to ANYONE and proclaim that this is "one Nation under God." I am not embarrassed to be an American, where we live in a freedom that is unique among the countries of the world. Everyone says that there is a separation of church and state clause in the First Amendment to the U.S. Consitution. That is not correct. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof;..." An establishment of religion is not a separation clause of church and state. Respecting an ESTABLISHMENT of religion, is respecting a church, a synagogue, a temple, a television evangelist, a travelling evangelist. These ARE establishments of religion. Saying the Pledge Of Allegiance, with the term "Under God" was not made by Congress or the state legislatures. But...
To Say the Pledge Of Allegiance to our Country, is a profound statement of loyalty. The Pilgrims founded this Nation "Under God", and now, the U.S. Supreme Court, the atheists, and the U.S. and state legislatures want to do away with the very foundation that our beloved Country was founded on. If there is a separation of church and state clause in the First Amendment, then why do all the Legislatures open each day with a prayer? Congress also cannot stop us from practicing our own religious beliefs either. But they are trying. Saying the Pledge Of Allegiance with the term "Under God" in it, is a "PRACTICE" OF RELIGION, NOT AN ESTABLISHEMENT OF RELIGION. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peac on earth, & ((((((((((MANY SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little den sister, Barbie

A Deadly Trap (The Church of Oprah) (Article) - 8/22/2009 2:11:49 PM
With all due respect, Oprah is as entitled to her spiritual beliefs as you are to yours. She doesn't ask let alone demand, that anybody "follow" her -- Some do because they are natural followers and admire her for various reasons.
I may not always agree with Oprah, or share her spiritual beliefs -- But she does have as much right to speak publically about them, as you (or I) do, to speak publically about ours.
Blessings to you -
~GaiaDianne
A Former Mormon Speaks Out (Article) - 8/22/2009 2:01:39 PM
WEll, I'll begin by saying that i left the LDS (Mormon) Church too -- and i can tell you that i have plenty of complaints or "issues" with it -- but i feel that it's important to be honest, reasonable and fair about those complaints --
And I think too often, its critics are *not* fair.
For just a few examples:
1. Yes, there are temple rituals performed to which only Mormons are privy -- but hey, that's one of the characteristics of "mystery" religions: not all the principles are publically known. It's believed that some of its "deeper" truths are to be given only to those who are properly prepared and ready to understand and use them. Even Jesus said there were truths that he would keep from the general populace: See for example, Matthew 13:10-14.
2. As far as Mormons thinking they are the only "elect" -- you mean other Christian religions or groups *don't* beleive *they* are?
It's not fair to accuse Mormons of something that's done by other religions, unless you condemn them *all* for the same thing.
3. Many people criticize the LDS Church for "not accepting (or beleiving in) Jesus" -- but the truth is that Mormons begin and end every meeting, every class, every lecture, every baptism, every confirmation, every Ward Dinner, every conference, every get-together of any kind, "in the Name of Jesus Christ."
The Church's actual, official name is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" -- to distinguish them from the "former-day" or early Christians, who were called "Saints" (See for example, Romans 1:7) --
I think it's unfair to suggest that Mormons don't "accept" Jesus - perhaps their *idea* or doctrine about Jesus differs from someone else's, but that's an issue of dogma, not whether they're "Christian". And i think only Jesus is qualified and entitled to say whether someone "knows" Him, or is Known (and accepted) *by* Him.
Hey, i don't mind anybody criticizing the Mormon church -- I've been known to do it myself! -- But at the very least, be fair about it -- otherwise it's just sour grapes, bitterness and hypocrisy.
~GaiaDianne
