This deeply impacted me. Not sure if I understand exactly from the source of your intention -- but from what I've gleened of it thus far, I could call it
"Ode to Inauthenticity," especially from the exquisite third stanza--it is so true--we
glue ourselves to watching the Indy 500 just to see if someone will crash. I know there is much more here, just wanted to share one thought for the connection. Vicky

You may be right... but can we know for sure. Maybe these are simply growing pains.
to Eteam @ authorsden.com (Poetry) - 7/29/2002 10:41:45 AM
if you post more then once, the previous post goes off the front page...its only fair to the others who also post!
to Eteam @ authorsden.com (Poetry) - 7/28/2002 10:42:02 PM
A lot can happen in just a little while!
I have no clue what is going on around here.
But it seems many of the best writers are leaving, and the ones still here, are upset.
I do hope your work Michael remains!
Your voice is needed, and much appriciated.
Why is everyone leaving?
I had left for personal reasons.
to Eteam @ authorsden.com (Poetry) - 7/28/2002 10:03:53 PM
I know what mean, but you will have to pull your angel wings up if they kiss your ass?
Hopefully all will work smooth again.
to Eteam @ authorsden.com (Poetry) - 7/28/2002 8:12:27 PM
AM not sure whats going on either. but here is what I have figured out so far.. When you post you can only have one post on the board showing at a time, if you post something else the other goes off. Also when you post your post will quickly drop down to the bottom, and then eventually appear back at the top before sliding all the way off. From what I have timed, its taking my posts on the average of 24 hours to be completely off the start page.. They just don't appear in the way they usually did..
and it is frustrating for all of us who have been here for awhile.
to Eteam @ authorsden.com (Poetry) - 7/28/2002 7:55:45 PM
lmao.......30 minutes later from this writing....and the last two poems are gone.........computer glitch or, angry editors?????

This is great! I have to agree with Krissy's comment...about one can be more along simply by being taken for granted than to be locked in a closet. What a powerful piece of work. And what a powerful statement!

had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/23/2002 5:42:13 AM
Im like you .. I dont have time to read everyones writing...I read random.. selecting titles that I like...there are a few other poets that I read steady....I will also go down there list at leisure..reading from just titles... a lot of times I dont comment...but I have to agree some are clickish on here..sad huh ... but you find that where ever you go..
toy soldiers (Poetry) - 7/23/2002 5:22:01 AM
Very Good... write on!

had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/22/2002 4:53:29 PM
I have absolutely no idea as to what is going on. I do know however that your words ring true. An honest look at the world will sometimes reveal a not so nice outcome. Your honesty is refreshing.
had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/22/2002 4:37:14 PM
i wonder sometimes too...so i believe if it means something to someone...they will find it...the universe kinda works that way...there is just too much here to keep up...comments or not...
had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/22/2002 4:21:21 PM
Hate the idea of "clicks"--I never fit into any in my school years...
Thank you, Michael, for your honest expression...
It never hurts to do a little self-examination now and then--except...pride might get hurt...
had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/22/2002 2:18:18 PM
it's become a "click"....that is what I mean.........not a rating of what our talents are.....a "click"
had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/22/2002 2:15:03 PM
Am not real sure what this is about.. But I hope it resolves itself for you.. Your writing has a lot of merit. And your voice needed.
had to wonder (Poetry) - 7/22/2002 2:09:55 PM
You know Michael it's like if you get in the ring your going to take your lumps. I think that's in all areas of life, so I use that as my measuring stick...;)

the funeral (Poetry) - 7/19/2002 9:39:01 PM
You wrote this so vividly--and it's true...
Went through it more than once--the delayed
grieving and the necessity to "feed" company...
It's an old, old tradition that some could do without...
Thanks for sharing this..
lessons born (Poetry) - 7/19/2002 8:37:19 PM
Powerfully written--some don't even know what they've lost in the exchange...
the funeral (Poetry) - 7/19/2002 7:54:04 PM
very provoking ending...
the funeral (Poetry) - 7/19/2002 5:42:09 PM
Food for thought
or in this case distraction of the real purpose.
Rituals can be so insane

I almost passed this Michael, in no mood for a funeral, but I'm glad I didn't your right of course...;-)

SENDING YOU (((HUGS))) YOUR QUITE THE TALENTED WRITER~*
the funeral (Poetry) - 7/19/2002 1:48:33 PM
You've not offended anyone hun.. And you are so right.. At a time when a family needs to be alone with each other and their grief.. so often they are putting on a happy face and being host. Maybe it would be a good write to explain what those who want to show they care can do to help.. <shrugs> For I know so often they come doing only what they know to do and hope in some way it helps. If there were a way to let them know... to wait a week, give the family time, then be there.. to listen, perhaps to help with chores, take the kids for a day to give you a break... Its those little things people do when everyone else has gone.. Those are the things that mean the most. Great write my friend, and thought provoking as well. Sorry for rambling...
Love and Light

As you stated,
"he had all of you kids.
Also a man like that,

with him every inch of the way...
This is such a wonderful
