Death: Jaclyn's Ghost & Passage to Mesentia (Book) - 5/8/2008 11:21:31 AM
Jaclyn's Ghost is a very well written love story about Jaclyn Jade and Logan Smith. At the beginning of the story Jaclyn realizes, with the help of Logan, that she is dead. More specifically, she's a ghost. Logan died in the 1920s when the site of Sunset Apartments was a hotel. Dorlana Vann lends a great twist to the question of "where do we go when we die". "Hell" is really Earth, were we repeat our past mistakes or learn from them with each subsequent life. I really liked this take on it, of course I already think that our souls live more than one life on this planet. I've given Jaclyn's Ghost 'only' 4 stars out of 5 because with the paranormal and mystery elements it's not for everyone.

Midnight (Short Story) - 7/7/2008 10:30:13 AM
I love the modern, supernatural twist to this Cinderella story, and I love the irony at the end, where "Prince Charming" really desired the "step-sister."
But I wonder. What happened to poor Stella? Did she survive in the end?

Mrs. (A Jack and the Beanstalk inspired poem) (Poetry) - 10/16/2008 1:01:45 PM
An interesting "take" on the popular fairy tale. You are right. Many so-called fairy tales are not for little children. Thank you, Dorlana. Love and peace,

Dorlana,
WOW! After this one you just can't help feeling sorry for the Giants Widow but as I remember the goose that laid the golden eggs was stolen from Jacks's family to begin with. So the moral of the story can be, "What goes around, comes around," or "He who does not share the pudding often gets his just desserts." Enjoyed much. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
Destiny (Poetry) - 7/2/2008 8:29:35 AM
I can hear the sounds of passion playing like music all throughout this piece. I am especially taken with these two lines inparticular:
"A beautiful rose dreams of love’s freedom.
Without a mere glimpse he pursues his quest."
The first one grasps me with symbolism in love. I can picture a young man at the door on a first date with a rose in hand awaiting the door to open and his eyes to be filled by the girl's eyes. I imagine if the rose had words to speak what you've just penned would be a perfect dialouge. The second line is very profound but true also. I think this line simply describes the way man looks upon a woman with his heart and how instantaneaously he can set sail for a quest of love. Furthermore, it depicts how little faith we need to push us towards a great reward. Perhaps a reward called True Love as we all dream of. Simply Amazing Write!
