Mediocrity to Maturity (Book) - 10/4/2011 2:33:20 AM
Old Age is sort of like that. You become a Victim as privilages are taaken away. You must now depend on others. You can carry on but your ability is challenged. You can no longer drive so you are captured, for one thing. Driving is a neccesty in our world today.

The Significance of A Dream (Book) - 1/21/2008 6:32:21 PM

Random Acts of Kindness (Short Story) - 10/21/2014 1:39:22 PM
I believe that Jesus was a very good man and a example for all. I also believe in the Golden Rule, because it benefits the giver more than the receiver. However, I don't believe that Jesus is a "savior." We have only this life to live, because no one, and no words written by men, have shown us that there is any place after this life. Therefore, I am an atheist. That does not preclude me from being as kind and helpful as I can every day. Today, I was waiting for my car to be repaired when a young woman with a cane, quite overweight, needed to go a few blocks where she was to be in day care. She said she wanted me to take her to the daycare, because she couldn't walk to the center. She was insistent, but my car was being repaired. When it was finished, I came back in the waiting room and she was gone. I would've gladly taken her, in spite of her rather pushy attitude, but she called the center and they had apparently come and picked her up. While we were talking she asked another fellow in the room for money and I saw him give her $10. She asked me to come and pray with her on Wednesday night at her group home where she said she didn't like living with nine others there. I didn't decline or offer and she didn't tell me where it was. Being quadriplegic, Christians often think that I want to pray with them about my paralysis that I've had for 50 years. People have often helped me out of the kindness of their heart. Some very avid Christians have been unwilling to even help me with my urine bag, a simple task that every man does in the restroom without the use of sterile gloves or a face mask. Kindness and compassion does not have a religion. Ron

The Rock (Article) - 8/13/2008 8:58:15 PM
If adults can only be kids, we might come and be close to this rock. But adults are not kids. They prepare war, they prepare killing each other, they prepare famine, they prepare innocent children to die, they prepare cancer, and they prepare to poison the world. And because of their beliefs - God, Science and Politics - they prepare to destroy life.

A True Friend (Poetry) - 6/11/2014 9:28:56 AM
Very Interesting to read your thoughts. Though I feel they are aspired and held by hope n aspirations... If at all, instead of finding that true friend everywhere we can realize that a true friend exists in thyself therein all our friends will become true close friends.

A True Friend (Poetry) - 6/11/2014 9:16:14 AM
You expose a lot of questions regarding what a true friend is. Most of us would wish that those things you express in your poem would happen when a friend is needed. Psychologists have found out that we can only have four or five true friends in a lifetime. The rest are just acquaintances. If they happen upon us in a time of need, they become truer. Ron

A True Friend (Poetry) - 6/11/2014 9:15:51 AM
So true and despite past relations that may have been for a season or even brought pain and betrayal, it makes one so very thankful for a true friend and that I am truly blessed. Thanks Frances.

Truth comes through this poem MYSTERY EYES, Frances. I lead a ministry to the elderly in a couple nursing homes, and what you have to say in this poem reminds us, that people are people no matter their age! My heart goes out to you, Frances. I am interceding in prayer for you and your sister and family. Remember that not even a little sparrow falls to the ground without God seeing it. A Rare Gem (Poetry) - 8/17/2008 5:47:23 PM
"Then one day, I slowed to engage the rhythm of my own heartbeat." Lovely line. Outstanding piece. The word dose bothered me a bit somehow, it seemed a plain word to suit the eloquence words prior couched in such grace. Yet, still outstanding. Sincerely Rodney

Your use of the Proverb gives emphasis to this wise poem. From generation to generation, the responsibility to pass on the wisdom of the Lord is of great importance. Connie

One More for Jesus (Poetry) - 8/13/2008 3:37:22 PM
Even the ministry of poetry may be thought of as absurd by some, God uses it to bless many who read with hungry hearts. I love the premise of this poem, and your eagerness to share His love. Connie

Gee those are exactly my feelings of my first trip on the Metrorail! Being from the small southern town of Indian Trail mass transit is not something we are accustomed to enjoying. Boarding at the Pentagon, on the Yellow Line I believe, then riding the Metro into our nation's capital city was far more exhilarating than any Carowinds amusement park ride!

Hurry Up! (Poetry) - 7/29/2008 1:52:35 PM
Oh what a wonderful description, felt like I was running to catch the subway again, even running up and down those escalators... Be always safe, Karen

Hurry Up! (Poetry) - 7/29/2008 3:46:15 AM
Great description and that is exactly how it is. Exciting though it was to me. Have not been there in years, but would like to see those sights once again. Washington D.C. is really a beautifully laid out city for touring.

A Rare Gem (Poetry) - 7/20/2008 3:34:33 AM

The Sacrifice of Giving (Poetry) - 7/2/2008 3:43:17 AM
My good Friend Donna Barnes came with her husband to trim the weeds and bushes in my yard last eve. I was so appreciative of them and she said they like to do things and are always doing things for people. So is my sister -in =law Ruth Anne in NJ. Helpful people are good christians too.

One More for Jesus (Poetry) - 7/2/2008 3:41:00 AM
Many do strive to know Jesus, some cannot believe in him. But I do and let him lead me each day. He is my savior and I believe in him, therefore I am a saint as are others who believe on him too.

A Rare Gem (Poetry) - 7/2/2008 3:39:48 AM
God is great, God is good, all the time, a song the children sing at our Church. They love this song. It's so true.

Worse Things Than Dying (Poetry) - 6/30/2008 10:14:05 AM
Such a tragic accident, but you being able to write about it helps. At our alumni reunion last Sat. a man had his wife in a wheel chair, she was crippled in an auto accident. So young a person she was too. We don't know why things like this happen, but prayers do help and I am sure when the time is right God will bring her to him. Meanwhile hang in there and enjoy her every moment you can with her.

Worse Things Than Dying (Poetry) - 4/25/2008 7:51:52 PM
I am so sorry for your sister, and I just said some prayers for her. It is obvious that you feel her pain every bit as much, my blessings to you both. xxxxMichelle

Worse Things Than Dying (Poetry) - 4/23/2008 3:39:18 AM
Frances, you are so right! There are things worse than dying. Your poem brought back such sad memories of me watching mother lying flat of her back for years, unable to move, her mind still working, her heart beating, but her life gone long ago. I know what you feel and its the most stressful and hurtful thing we can ever go through. God bless you and keep you strong for your sister.

Worse Things Than Dying (Poetry) - 4/22/2008 5:33:52 PM
Oh dear God how my heart aches for you. I just recently watched my mother slip away from Alzheimer's, and though she was not in an accident I can fully understand the end result. Eyes wide open, yet she never did recognize one single soul, just adrift on a mindless journey..... Be always safe, Karen

Worse Things Than Dying (Poetry) - 4/22/2008 4:35:41 PM
If I Read This Write Right You'll Be Let Go Of Her (Your) Burden? Might Be If You Stop Crying And Changed Your Way Of Thinking She'd Be Healed Whole Again,i.e. From My Childhood I Listen To My Momma Pray To (God) Die(?)...Sadly She Lived To Be 89... So, Whence Your # Is Up ( Fate?) Brain Dead Or However You As I Will Go...Now Where In You End Up At That After Can Is Be Even Worst Fate Than Her( Your) Burden... Credit For Illuminating Write... Oh Yes! Many a day as my dear father sits in front of his computer (now a retired pastor) he sometimes moves not when I visit, but I know his mind is ever working creating Biblical proportions in the commentaries he writes for colleges, churches and individuals to learn from. Thanks for the write -- Bravo to all the unsung heros! Deborah

Beyond the Christmas Stable (Poetry) - 1/7/2008 4:26:14 PM
A beautiful write my friend...can you imagine what it will be like to meet Jesus...I mean face to face. I feel Him in my heart, my soul, and my spirit. I feel His presence in my home, car, and classroom, as I have invited Him in all three. I've often thought about this, even dreamed about it. However, in my dreams I can never see His face, only a bright light. I did get a glimpse of His nail scarred hands in one dream. Beyond what a mere mortal mind can comprehend...but what a day that will be. I look forward to seeing my grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, my nephew...oh and can you imagine seeing Matthew, Mark, John and what about Noah and all the's something to strive for...eternity. Thank you for stopping by my den...I too love the Lord and enjoy working for Him, it's nice to meet other Christians who enjoy writing. I will be stopping by your den again soon! Blessings from Kentucky and welcome to the den! Joyce Bowling

Frances, for the first time I have been reading your poems. I am enjoying them all, and this one especially. This is so inspiring and reassuring. Sometimes we think we are not making any mark in this old world, but God uses the least of His children to influence others. I heartily approve of your use of Bible verses with your poems! Connie
