Hi Rosalind
It's a toss up whether to get frustrated on the queue or at the machine. It's a no win situation. Cheers! Liz
The Painful Death of a Chain Store (Poetry) - 1/31/2009 2:29:38 PM
Rosalind,
A wonder write about our troubled times. However, that's just one chain, five chains in our city have gone under, the latest, Circuit City. They all went out right after Christmas. Unfortunately your poem could apply to them all. Wonder if this economy will ever be well again.

Always so hard on the families left behind, but then sometimes it is a necessary evil to provide what needs to be provided.....

Businessman in the cheap motel (Poetry) - 12/8/2008 12:38:51 PM
Those trips can be fun or they can be taxing, Rosalind. But the expectation of coming home is always the same. That's what makes the trip worthwhile for me.

Rosalind,
Through your words, you make a person know what a child goes through when a parent is missing, for a short time or long. Beautifully written poem.

Sometimes invisibility is a good thing, there are many sides to being in the background, you showed the feeling well.

I join in the celebration, Rosalind. It was said as long ago as
BC something by Virgil that Love conquers all. - gene.

Hi Rosalind. I've found that these thingamajigs are often a lot

Lyra and Jesus (Poetry) - 3/31/2008 2:35:10 PM
I've not read the book, but having worked 12 years in kids books, I know all about the books and Phillip Pullman etc,-this has a nice rhyme and flow to it and piques the reader's curiousity.

Reading The Lords Prayer (Poetry) - 2/7/2008 10:57:23 AM
I think God gave us language because we needed it, not because He did. Wonderful poem, and he does know what is in our hearts so much better to use our own words. I must admit, sometimes my hamster cage spinning mind needs a prayer, such as The Lord's Prayer to slow it down and get it focused LOL.
Be well and happy,
Kathy
