beautiful imagery, the 'pearlized ether', so brilliantly shines, yet so fragile, so untouchable, yet beckoning and shining through the pain and mmemory, hope maybe will come alive...
monsters waiting to swallow me (Poetry) - 3/4/2011 2:36:36 PM
Such Imagery! & the pain of those demons so frightening...
they pull and so much pain they bring, yet that soul/spirit cries out for that salvation...

Sounds like a pretty typical youth.
Careful with that flying on your Harley. The older you get the more you break.

to miss lestrange (Poetry) - 5/17/2007 3:24:04 PM
The economy of your work is masterful. This is a poem that reads like a gentle watercolor -- art, yes, but at its softest, a mere kiss of paint on the canvas.

to miss lestrange (Poetry) - 4/9/2007 2:28:15 PM
Perfect love is rare indeed - for to be a lover will require that you continually have the subtlety of the very wise, the flexibility of the child, the sensitivity of the artist, the understanding of the philosopher the acceptance of the saint, the tolerance of the scholar and the fortitude of the certain. --Leo Buscaglia
You love, Richard.

so, so much here, richard...pain, that love for the stars and speeding through life and yet that loneliness and pain, yeah, the good old american dream, dammit, it just doesn't work out for many, but you keep on and yes, oh, you've done, likely enough penance and more-- tho' i wonder if you will ever believe that--you've been to hell and back and your works, well... just so much, much here--like here is richard poor --body, midnd, spirit ..heart and more heart and pain and beauty nd that everlasting reacing for the stars and love...but i, i just well, wish i had the words-- these are so damn real, so raw and so full and more...at a loss, but one thing to know-- you ARE a Poet and then some...

to my ex's (Poetry) - 8/10/2006 6:20:29 PM
and you could and still can, I have to believe, have to...
here, you show that, so much here in so few words...
yes, the demons plague but dammit I Believe you have a capacity for the other, for love...just need to find your way somehow and let it shine
your love, yes, let it roar gently
'as if a god'....
this moved me as your work has much moved me lately, so, I mean it...
all the best, you, sir, and more.....

on a roll (Poetry) - 8/5/2006 4:31:47 AM
I always said I made plans when "with" my father in battle fighting WW-2 hanging head upside down...knowing what hell is going to be one day dodging bullets...lol!!
on a roll (Poetry) - 8/3/2006 3:28:48 PM
Ah, richard, I like what Elizabeth says and you, well...through the pain and through the life you've lived, you've for so many years been a Poet, see...perhaps that is your destiny, at least a large part-- that place where you can bare the softest and the rawest wounds /the pain and the beauty and I don't know...but indeed on a roll you are in this new work --so much of it, and i imagine in that heart and your life as well...and sometimes it is a rolling hill we climb, but always the poet/wordsmith/giver of what lives within you!
sawyer (Poetry) - 8/3/2006 3:23:53 PM
yes, you are good at this, richard, i know and it is back breaking work, but you are also so very, very good as a sawyer of sorts w/words...this, well, you inspired me to write my first piece in a long, long time...
it has the sweat and raw strength and pull and push of stone cutting and of, also life screaming and more...a fine piece, yes, tho' remember you are 'good at' many more things than even you may Imagine...
and this piece is so excellent, it, well...again, raw, honest and much, much meaning is your words, as usual, sir!
(((r.))) remember you are good at giving, sigh...
what a piece, of work and yet of life and of body/mind/Spirit!!!
sunset (Poetry) - 8/3/2006 3:17:48 PM
strange, yes, to lose so often our battles, yet go on and somehow strong in the struggle and how much beauty you see, give, here, in this 'sunset', beautifully painted...ah, richard, I guess it might also be a metaphor for aging, also...
this is special and yes, you hold some dreams so close to that heart, though your life may have taken a different direction, oh we are complex, we humans and you've given us here another so honest glimpse into the pain and beauty and the search and more in this poem...
on a roll (Poetry) - 8/3/2006 4:01:23 AM
So true...we plan 'there' for this life 'here' to work out the kinks of our soul's growth, and satisfy the Divine Plan.
sawyer (Poetry) - 8/3/2006 4:00:07 AM
Destiny can be fickle.
sunset (Poetry) - 8/3/2006 3:58:28 AM
You'd be surprised at how many do NOT live each day as given, nor try to make it the best it can be. You are already way ahead of the pack.
Everytime something is "lost" there is always something better to replace it. Not everyone has the 'eye wisdom' or the 'heart wisdom' to see.
An excellent philisophical poem.
sunset (Poetry) - 8/2/2006 6:28:52 PM
I really like the first lines..
Hope all is well......
writing 101 (Poetry) - 7/24/2006 3:55:15 PM
"...take your pen in hand
then a long deep look inside
tell of what you see and more
that which the soul does hide..."
Wonderful lines...and that is the secret.
72106 (Poetry) - 7/24/2006 3:13:45 PM
richard, wow, Elizabeth is right, you are one a roll...and as for B'days, sorry I missed Cinqo de Mayo, and I wish I had missed my own, tho'...lol...but now...
read it aloud, it beats
softly and still
i feel some pain, yet
also, i feel, well, yes, sometimes Life is scary and some things seem so unable to be changed and oh i relate, but wish I could do as Elizabeth said, Look Forward...yes, hard, ain't it, but now always...
love the style, rhythm and the heart soul beating of this one,
hmmm...it is honest and written from within and again, mi amico...bravo...
writing 101 (Poetry) - 7/24/2006 3:07:20 PM

yes, I believe one must take that 'long deep look inside'...and you do, sharing your heart/soul, all with us ...ah, richard, you dig deep and give and this, well...sigh, how love does go, how much past love can hurt and how much it takes to love, at times, when we have troubled souls/hearts, you know?

dancing in the night (Poetry) - 7/17/2006 10:06:16 PM
god, yes, just it sways and moves with the desire and the romance and the beauty of that feeling, oh, god, yes, just that first line, had me, it is so true, a touch of the hand and the heart can melt...

do stay sharp, richard!
glowing (Poetry) - 7/17/2006 9:54:35 PM
god, richard, thank you...
this is so much a beautiful, oh so very beautiful piece, exposing the pain, naked and all too much as human as one can be...
you've expressed both the naked raw hurt/pain/need as well as that extraodinary memory of hope-- that moon, oh yes, my friend...it was and Is yet still your soul glowing...
I could cry...you've opened up here and given so much and in the most beautifully poetic way, your Imagery is so in itself masterful and still the tiny specks we are who so long fo love and home and hope shines through, glows and gives and gives us all a most special glimpse into your gifts as a writer and into the person, unafraid to share the pain and the guts and the whole, whole of one-- you, yes, and yet what a gift as you make one feel, here so not alone...
I am humbled by the writing and moved by your words all too much, sigh...
loneliness is dark and still those 'silver stars
Thank YOU for this, god it is among your best...
and it hurts and glows at the same time...
oh, damn, how ...well, this just got to me as you can see...
bravo and grazie bene YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

62806 (Poetry) - 7/5/2006 8:56:18 PM
i understand, in my way, this piece, all too much...
it hurts, it just...it, this somehow speaks to me of all too much the pain of yes, the toxic dreams/life oh...of the damned cursed loneliness and the all too hard to fight demons...
and yes, richard, how much truth here for you know/have seen all too much inside the nightmare and it is lonely ...
all so very much far too lonely
god, you, you also just
know, i don't know, this hurts badly, it is just so real, and no...
no bell tolls when this is the dream...
better and better 'dreams' wished to you and all ...yes, me too, who have ever been through anything like this...
just, you...oh, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
you make others perhaos feel so not alone for a moment, baring your whole ....
thanks, you, yes....
falling for you (Poetry) - 7/5/2006 8:48:09 PM
i nearly cried, how long it has been to feel like this and god, richard, not only so felt, but so beautifully written...
you make one 'fall' with you into the arms and bed, yes, curled up like a child, feeling at long last home, if even for
god, this is so beautiful and more...much here, so few perfectly chosen words and it is just, again, painfully beautiful, so so...oh, i am at a loss...
i love this
written from/with the heart
yes? Oh yes...
you, heart man
so full of the search, the dream, the pain...
sighs here in such a peace...
and such a longing fulfilled in this dream of a piece!
i am again, well...oh to feel this way, it...just, this is a keeper, mia amico

VERY NICE WELL WRITTEN WORK.
broken heart (Poetry) - 6/28/2006 5:09:44 PM
To be the best we can be is the gift we give in a relationship. You have to love yourself before you can love anyone else. Gets to be a drag otherwise.
An excellent work of love lost.
off the map (Poetry) - 6/28/2006 5:07:46 PM
The search for the meaning of life and the exploration of self is never done. Poetry is a good way to search. Pity poetry isn't more appreciated by publishers.
62806 (Poetry) - 6/28/2006 5:06:04 PM
Another good work from you, Richard.
Poetry is a good catharsis for the soul.
monster that i am (Poetry) - 6/26/2006 11:38:42 AM
Ah Richard, so deeply powerful and haunting, this just got to me today, the past can haunt us, torment us, but in the end, the sun will rise and give us another chance at life. Excellent and so very poignant poetry.
monster that i am (Poetry) - 6/25/2006 3:12:32 PM
When I know the "monster that i am" I can correct the course of my life and set the map of my angelical destiny... This "monster that i am" thought me a wise lesson... I enjoyed the reading of this poetic grand.
I salute You, Poet.

monster that i am (Poetry) - 6/22/2006 9:03:53 PM
From out of the darkness comes a spark, which lights all of creativity.
monster that i am (Poetry) - 6/22/2006 6:09:44 PM
The past is just that. I only know you as you have worked hard to become, a very gentle, thoughtful, thinking, embracing soul.
You can't embrace the new paradigm unless you let go of the old.
broken heart (Poetry) - 6/21/2006 4:58:09 PM
amazing, god, what a piece, richard, every line just...yes, this is lost love and so beautifully written, it...oh, this was love-- and to lose it, well, this--this Is a broken heart...and it is so softly, eloquently painfully well written...and more...
so many lines, every one, god so felt, so much conveyed in few words that ring so true...damn, beautifully done, richard...
it is, again amazing, dear you!
monster that i am (Poetry) - 6/21/2006 3:16:57 PM
no monster, you...god, yes, it feels that way, i do know, and this, richard, painful, and dammit, you do know all too much that has been ingrained in you over years and years of the violence, yet your heart, spirit soar as you learn, and give, 'teach
mi amico, as f'ing dark, hard, painful and black-red raging pain, there, i know, i know...still, you keep on and on, seeking that solace that huge heart deserves...
piece hurts, it, it is painful and i know, in my way how it feels to be so 'lost', 'alone' and...well, you've opened your guts/heart up raw/beautifully here, still leaving us with the goodness you are!
it DOES live within you...the monster is the pain and memory and raging pain is so unbearable, yet, here you come through and give...
'all too human that you are'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dammit, here ----> (((((r.)))))))

this is exceptional, i especially like the form
off the map (Poetry) - 6/13/2006 6:48:24 PM
this hurts, richard, i too much relate and this is so brutally honest in its all too human raw open words of how much it takes just to be who one is, you know?
some amazing lines...
those miles/'corpse-like' and 'guessed at without clues' and just wow, painfully too good...yes, i, too search still and it becomes so hard sometimes to go on again and again, searching, but thank you...just, well, because...
piece this is!
my dear readers (Poetry) - 5/30/2006 3:16:24 PM
'if only in the day...' oh for that day when, well, ah richard, you, you truly are a seeker and somehow i hope that heart/mind/spirit/self...torn, yes, haunted and wandering will find its 'home', its 'peace'...
ah, don't know, its love also...this makes me feel for you, my dear poet and i relate and also seek in my own way...and the 'dream' we chase, sigh...
oh for it to come to rest within, you know?
for it to come true, at least enough to salve the wounds we, many of us carry, in many ways...
yes, you give and may you get what will make your heart calm and more...
off the map (Poetry) - 5/29/2006 7:55:51 PM
i can relate to that. Liked this write very much.:-) shoma

and still you do fight, somehow, yes...
,these words, all your words, somehow keep opening up the pain and the soul, weary, worn, still...future?
Oh, and those chains? i all too well know these feelings and yet...i believe you will see/make your way toward a future-- you somehow have far too much to give in your poetry...
and this, this cuts to the bone and is painful, so much seen/felt...yet, you are here! and sharing your truths, and oh, my best to you, my friend &future, let us hope it can will somehow, someday bring some peace to the weary souls among us...hope, richard, sigh...even a thread, we hang on and on...

Happy Birthday my friend...If I had known I coulda write you a poem......lol that rhymes...hey not so bad to be fifty......just keep it nifty....lols!!
To Be "Nifty" Fifty AGAIN
The most Uplifting time of life
You turned fifty and confused
As you take another look
You realize to be uplifted
You might just have to re-cooperate
Changes need to be made
You will have to think about
A “Cross your Heart” bra
Or maybe a “Cross your Knees”
To lift the bust
Some “Step-in” panties
To lift that stomach
And Oh boy some
To lift your husband
To please your sex drive
But the visit to the doctor
Could be a pain in the ass
If he walks in with that glass
If you laugh to much
You pee in your pants
Cough in church
Your ass start to sing along
And with the slightest breeze
You start to sneeze
And you poop in D-Minor
Oh it is so “Uplifting” to be fifty
Just remember when you sneeze
Cross your knees and squeeze
For the Most Uplifting
Melodic sounds of fifty

Good one, Richard.
my dear readers (Poetry) - 4/30/2006 4:10:25 PM
Ha! But then again, blessings come in strange ways. When one door closes a dozen more open. We mourn the closed door instead of getting on with the new ones.
Love the poem.

It's a harsh world, even for adults.
That first line is thought provoking. We are indeed born into a violent world.
Really an exceptional insight, as per usual from you Richard.
Glad to see you posting again.

painfully beautiful, richard, and I all too much do relate, god, got a chilll...
ah, you, and number 400 here, bravo mi amico...
it resembles the truth/raw/open...in much of your work, you write with that kind of Honesty and you...yet seek, yes, and this, just, again, beautifully simple seeking needing yet to find that
oh, at a loss, so feel this, richard, you know?
amazing, dear poet, and makes others' perhaps 'feel' as well...
so felt and for me?
so relate, oh and you make one see one may noit be as alone as one thinks, all here in this...
I, well....just, what a piece!

So human, so all too human, dear richard...
and full of truths that, yes, can haunt or...or make one want what, oh, many do, yet we poner and wonder and seek again, the/our own truths and what a poem, I...well, what to say?
bravo, gut/heart/spirit/flesh...much here, oh yes...

ah, dammit, my friend...
seeking always and
yes, if we only knew, but we cannot as you, we can only feel enough to want to salve and soothe, perhaps...
and one, any one can only know one's own, ah, one's own truest pain and secrets sso dug within...
I, this...this piece, well...ohhh, I
you have been through
seen so much,
done and done again,
cheated death and you keep rising
yet looking inside always and up, up, praying for the salvation you seek and oh, to learn to forgive oneself, you see, now that is /would be such a Blessing...
sorta rise (Poetry) - 3/15/2006 6:11:53 PM
oh this, this is simply said in such beauty and one feels it, no...one doesn't want to wake when this love lies under/within those closed eyes, dreaming, sleeping, feeling, more...
what dreams we know that bind our hearts, spirits, hopes...
beautiful, very ...
love this, oh, the writing I've found here, damn, sir, such poetry you ...stunning work(s)
man he is
beat, beat, beating
a man within the
brightest moon as poet
beating soft, soft, soft
oh, no wonder so many miss you, and damn, what I have been missing, here, you are just, well, what a POET!
my dear miss...... (Poetry) - 3/15/2006 6:00:14 PM
speechless, richard, this made me feel, almost weep, god, what to say, the Imagery and how the so very human truth, need, lives in this...
'the heart paying the sands toll...'
and those eyes, soul...
all of it, dear sir. it, oh, how beautifully haunting and hopeful and...
'joined as one and so free'...yes, god, now that IS freedom, that is Love and oh, just what a piece!
so full, so special, so full, full...damn, I...just, ah...
dreamin of you #7 (Poetry) - 3/15/2006 5:52:37 PM
simply so beautiful...
it is a soft, wondrous feeling, love'...for me, this speaks of, anyway and home, home being that place of the kind of dream that brings us 'grace'...this sighs, this shines and oh this dream, to have it, ah...
hold this dream, may it come true, dear poet.

in glory (Poetry) - 3/15/2006 5:46:38 PM
isn't it, richard...'a long road
there is both light and dark within this, oh, it...I so much like the brightness along with the underlying search, the ride...
yes, sometimes it is in the 'darkness' where one shines...
this is like two poems in one, yet not, you know...
oh, that line--->'nothing of consequence'...when one's heart, soul, dreams and feelings mean so much in this world, this 'earthly world'...and home, yes, that is the
beautifully done, my friend, this...so fine, so much within, so much...
and I agree, the form, the meaning, brilliant, sir...
like the stars
in that sky...
Love it, just love this much!

Awwwwwwww....I think I know the meaning!!
not enough (Poetry) - 3/13/2006 6:40:29 PM
richrad, dammit...oh, you have no idea how much this means...and there is a Lot, here and there is a depth of pain with questioning, though, you know? as if you accept, love the Imagery and the conversation and oh the mumbling!
and how I feel this, inside, inside all too much...
I, this, I ... you just got to me with this one, and I know, well, how true this is for you, richard...in your way, in your Life...I, damn, you've said so much and then some...
and wouldn't it be nice if you/we/whomever hadn't heard him right...what a way of writing about Life/God/Life/Pain, etc...in so deceptively simple a way, as it is not simple at all, it is so real, profound and...I, I need to get a chance to read more of your work here when can, but this one, just it sso, got to me...
you, hey, damn, may things somehow get better for all...

she writes with fear

she writes you hoping

she writes with what she's coping
knowing the man above
offers no remorse
she writes you dear
