Friction vs. Failure: Wasteful Competition and the Lessons of History (Article) - 3/17/2008 10:29:23 PM
And that is undeniably a good point, and very well stated and plotted out. I bleed for the free bird that would not be tamed, who is being tamed none-the-less by those who would weild its power for personal strategies-- by those who do not realize that to weild a tamed bird, is to weild a falicy! Sorry for the rant. Good wrighte.

Teddy Bear Containment: The End of the Beginning? (Article) - 3/11/2008 5:09:21 AM
Lately I've been absorbed in reading the writings of E. Phillips Oppenheim-- a prolific writer during the turn of the century. His books are getting harder and harder to beg/borrow/ find... anyways, what's so interesting is the whole pre-war atmosphere that he wrote in... I've heard the terrorist war compared to Vietnam a lot-- even WWII, but after reading some of these books, you realize the state of denial we're in: it's strikingly similar to Britain's attitide prior to WWI. Check into it. I know you'd see the similarities... Makes me want to sit up on the edge of my seat and take note. --Charlie

Lawyers, Gang-Bangers and My Household Goddess (Poetry) - 3/11/2008 4:44:41 PM
Interesting with much light humor, yet the majority out there are just ambulance chasers and looking out for their own back pocket. I know a few who are true and honest, yet they get shuffled to the back of the heep.... Be always safe, Karen

Lawyers, Gang-Bangers and My Household Goddess (Poetry) - 3/11/2008 7:10:02 AM
Boots, You had me rolling on the floor, yet nodding my head - lawyers can be greedy, some can make too much money (in my eyes), but there are good ones out there - I've heard of Guardian Ad Litem, from reading Jodi Picoult - they are acting in the best interest of the child. An excellent symposium. (((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Mr. Entropy Jones (Poetry) - 3/8/2008 9:04:27 PM
quantom vocabulary this dunce cannot understand. Okay... so the general concept of entropy is that it is a measuring cup for disorder... or spontaneous change, or, in communication, noise errors. So, if I take this in a societal meaning, does that mean that the constant figuring-out-what's-wrong-with-us is actually perpetuating the cycle of disorder? Or is it another word for kvetchers? I don't get it. Sorry. I need maybe a little lead-in that narrows down the definition a bit-- Even a title or subtitle would do it. --Charlie

Rarmcwa's Blues (Poetry) - 3/8/2008 7:28:44 PM
...many blue notes...yet the hills are alive...in a much different color...more honest color... well done Boots... John

Boots' Finestkind O-Negative Dreams (Poetry) - 3/8/2008 11:48:43 AM
I'm sure I've met some of your little floaters before. Interesting write-- never thought about that before. You wanna piece o' me? You gotta piece o' me... My aunt had one of the rarest types in the world-- 4 similar to hers, she the only one exactly like... anyway, 3/4 part 0+, 1/4 part 0- How weird is that? I used to take her to dialysis weekly. They'd have to mix her plasma, and if they didn't get it exactly right? The good news is, that she could give blood to anyone-- positive or negative. Her little floaters were in high demand. Perhaps all that blood doning is what made her kidneys give out. Who knows. --Charlie
