Love to go through W. Va when daughter takes me to Ga. Nice scenic country, she loves the mountains and idolizes them. My husband was a great basketball person , captain of his team in school and just was a great sportsman. Sounds like a good trip for a small child and always be remembered by him. Congrats on the team's win. You must be so proud of him. Love the birthday party, looks like I missed out on something nice.

Finally taking the time to read your stories. This one is so good. I have a single mother daughter, my youngest 39 years, Kris and it is hard to be single mother too. But they are down in Fla this week together visiting a girlfriend of Kris' who moved down there and she missed her so much she had to fly to visit her. Good story here.

I'm just like you. I love the quietness of a small town. However, I'm from the big city and recently escaped to the suburbs six years ago. Wayne reminds me of the small towns that I passed through on family road trips as a kid. Interesting tidbit.

Sounds like a place I would like to live. Being part of a family who originated in Brown, WV. I think you do a good job of describing one of Many like communities that exist there.

I have a son in Randolph County, WV. who falls into the same category. He always has so much time for The Forest Festival, His teaching job, his family (2 children, college age),his church, His wife's church, Scouts, baseball, Soccer, and any other group that needs help. that he has very little time for himself. Because of his constant helping others, he is starting to have health problems himself. It is good to know of others who are Just as unselfish.

He is so cute and scholarly from the photo. My husband liked eagles and eagles do soar high. Keep him under your wing for now cause they grow up so fast. You can't imagine what they can accomplish even when this small though. Love him to death, I say that is what you have to do right now. When they get a certain they do not even want hugs. You know IM TOO BIG NOW MOTHER!!!

My Little Boy is Growing Up (Poetry) - 2/11/2008 3:35:35 PM
Deep down, Stephanie, while children do grow and mature, they'll always be their parents "little ones." Your son, while he will grow to be independent, just as you are raising him to be, will always be your little boy, in the memories you have of his childhood. You may even see a bit of that childhood and your memories in his own children's eyes one day. This is a beautiful tribute to your son. Jill
