Raspberry Girl looks really good....well done !

Eve's RibJezebel's Hips (Book) - 5/31/2008 5:58:00 AM
This book of stories/poems are extremely powerful. Putting all the pieces together is like a Cinderella story of pain, heartache, sorrow into the the empowerment of being one self and a woman at that. It's nice to be reminded of things we go through in our lives that take us to where we are now and give us the power to be who we CHOOSE in the future. Thanks Selene!!! Tons of love, hugs and kisses, Amber

A cheeky little write for sure! I have no doubt that it will sell like hot-cakes on a 4th of July open. Behold! The power of rhyme and fantasy! --Charlie

ThisModernRapunzel (excerpt from novella) (Short Story) - 3/6/2008 12:39:03 PM
I do so love your writing. You wit and truthful sarcasm have sharp teeth indeed. As for me, I can no longer bear to see these milksops ridiculed this way...I am storming the castle! In the words of Rhett Butler, your Rapunzel "needs to be kissed...and often. And by someone who knows how to do it." I'm anxiously waiting for the next installment!

ThisModernRapunzel (excerpt from novella) (Short Story) - 3/5/2008 11:24:34 AM
Loved the story... reminded me a little of Charlie's backwards or fractured fairytales... but with your own unique style that I love... Cryssa :~)

ThisModernRapunzel (excerpt from novella) (Short Story) - 3/5/2008 11:07:09 AM
It's shaping-up beautifully. I like the lead-in especially. It has a far-away sound to it... and then the story is brought forward. It has your penetratingly beautiful style of writing written all over it. --Charlie

Morgana's brew (Short Story) - 2/23/2008 3:01:04 PM
VICKY - Morgana - VILE VILLAINESS! SHADES OF BRAM STOKER ... had to GOOGLE the word - nosferatu - never heard of it before! ALAS - MONSTROUS MANICAL MORDRED! Love the tales of Merlin, King Authur, and Camelot. When my kids were in H.S. I played a knight in the chorus of Camelot, the musical - we had great fun, especially singing - FIE! May the Strength of Ex Calibur SUSTAIN YOU! Tom.

Is this one of the dimensions employed in the construction of offspring confusion? And please, not to forget the male sea horse which bears the young in that species. Your humor has me almost doubled over on the floor, laughing uncontrollably with far too many tears of delight. Stop, please! Okay, you may begin again! Jon Michael Willey

I think it's genetically inherited, Charlie, like our vestigial tail =D O, and Deborah, I think perhaps I am much too crass and unpredictable for poor Oprah to take ;)

...similar conversation with my 12-yr-old... just keeping her safe :0) and out of "Trouble (with a capital 'T'--that rhymes with ['C']--and that stands for ["CooL"].... we gotta find a way to keep these young ones moral after school...)" and safe, I might add... --Charlie

Signing Away Your Moments Is Not All Bad (Article) - 4/14/2008 5:48:48 PM
I read this...and then I read it again out loud; careful to breathe at the right spots and to linger over syllables where I felt you would have me. This prose is very poetic, very stream of consciousness, very reminiscent of a female-souled Kerouac. I have read much of what you have posted here with other pieces and I fully recognize a distant, but ever-present darkness and pain in your words - even a contempt, if you will, for those sappy, ill-meaning princes. But there must come a time when one stops blaming the moth for flying into the flame. The soul that writes these words is a luminous globe and will undoubtedly attract both beautiful butterflies and clumsy June bugs. The wonder here for me is not the stupidity of the bugs, but the brilliance of the light. I love this piece but couldn't disagree more with the final line. You have far more to give than scribbles and keystrokes, screamed or purred or otherwise. You are so much more.

Signing Away Your Moments Is Not All Bad (Article) - 4/14/2008 5:45:12 PM
Your gift is lavish beyond your means to constantly replenish. For you are giving the very soul of yourself dear woman. If your gift were simply your magnificent talents, could anyone ask more? I think not. Your self esteem needs adjustment, it is most certainly too low. Your soul is to be reserved for you and your God. No other mortals should be permited to impinge their desires upon the aura of that specter. Go forth to entertain with the promise to self of entertaining yourself the most! All others that happen to be entertained should consider the gift immense and ask not more. The shadow of who we truly are, must always remain an enigma to hold the value to lure, to entice, to intrigue. Bleed not for those seeking to know and therefore own, the soul of you. My blessings to a most talented and remarkable poet, and persona. Jon Michael Willey

WhenThePreybecomesThePredator (Poetry) - 4/26/2009 7:26:24 AM
Selene, your marvelous poetry is still as smooth as silk paper laced with perfume -- the imagery is superb -- pain flows through your lines until in the end, there is retribution and the predator is dealt his just deserts -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

WhenThePreybecomesThePredator (Poetry) - 4/24/2009 10:02:30 AM
The pain of abuse is turned outward in release. Powerful! The line, "...while confused she pulled back into a tulip frame and mourned her skin from behind the sun" is tragically beautiful! And there are many more beautiful lines in this poem. Imagery and meaning that linger as if a sorrowed stone in the heart. You are poet of tremendous import, Selene...Regards, Lin

Mullberries And Tapestries (Poetry) - 4/15/2009 3:04:09 PM

This is excellent, Selene. Love your metaphors. Notably: kneading history into my bones as she kneaded bread with her strong woman hands. And: I ate the stories off their lips with kisses. -gene.

This Is How The Horses Scream (Poetry) - 1/15/2009 1:53:01 PM
This is so gripping. Girls in shreaded innosence...men who delite in tearing precious silks and crushing gems into pastes to replace their eyes... People who can do good, who choose not to... You'll find me at your bar in the afterlife pleading your case, and against the monsters who tried to destroy you. One thing's for sure though, You are still a gorgeous creature, monster or no! And your words are exquisite no matter what subject you write about. --Charlie

This is superbly beautiful...the fleeting thoughts slipping in and out among the story you wove. It has all of the right emotions of gentle love, nostalgia, melancholy and yet...there is joy within the lines as well...a sense of healing, as much healing as ever can be done when a child is lost. Cryssa
