If only we all could have a mirror into the past, the future, our soul and into the next life. Well done! It seems Ahna, that writing talent runs in your family. I look forward to your future work on the Den. take care wrp

The Parable of the Mirror (Short Story) - 4/9/2008 1:29:31 AM
Oh! if any man could feel "that" feeling, the one that is inside of the mother...then, we would love our children more and understand what make motherhood so thick. A lovely story. Georg

The Parable of the Mirror (Short Story) - 4/8/2008 9:42:43 PM
Hard to believe something that pithy came from such a young thing. But it's just as beautiful as you are, Ahna-- just beautiful. --Charlie

The Parable of the Mirror (Short Story) - 4/8/2008 9:01:12 PM
A person's worth...seen through His eyes...priceless! You are a grand storyteller...one who shares bits of wisdom and insight. I hope that you never lose that love of giving and sharing with others to lighten and brighten their worlds. If only we all had such a mirror...but internalizing that image...His image...and reflecting it is really the key to happiness. Love ya! Mom...(Cryssa)

Abandoned (Short Story) - 2/20/2008 9:11:53 AM
Ahna, this is a great beginning-- 1)a bit of forshadowing 2)character building 3)we're learning about a culture 4)we see the relationship w/her father, and like them both-- our sympathies are definitely caught 5)Good imagery-- we see the tap-tap, the "rich house", the shoe selling... it's all good. Next, you keep building your character. We need to see her and recognize her out of the other faces we'll see. We need to know her name. We'll need to very gradually see a change in her taking place-- witness all her emotions. Remember: no over-night change will work--it needs to be gradual. Have patience with her, and she'll write your story for you. Really good start, Ahna. I'm looking forward to reading more about her.

My Mother's Eyes (Poetry) - 3/24/2008 5:24:08 PM
This was a surprise to see in my inbox today... I am a little speechless. You made me cry... Thank you, my sweet Ahna... daughter of my heart, our firstborn. You would make any mother proud, but I am so very grateful and proud to be able to call you mine. I must disagree with your aunt though...I love your eyes because they are the color of Grandma's, my mom. My eyes have too much gray in them, but hers...and yours... are blue like the summer sky. When I look in your eyes I see my mother and your actions shine like hers did...compassionate, gracious, generous and loving. Thank you for letting her shine through your eyes. Love, Mom...

My Mother's Eyes (Poetry) - 3/24/2008 4:17:47 PM

My Mother's Eyes (Poetry) - 3/24/2008 1:42:40 PM

An Orphan's Plea (ET Waldron's Challenge from January) (Poetry) - 2/27/2008 1:20:40 AM
So many children...so little love around it would seems. An unwanted child is like a blanck page waiting for you to write in it the most beatiful prayers or the worst letters of rejection. An oustanding collection of words. Georg

An Orphan's Plea (ET Waldron's Challenge from January) (Poetry) - 2/26/2008 2:40:21 PM
Suffering in silence is exactly what those lost children do, as well as pray that someone will come forward and claim them for their own. Sometimes our prayers, wishes and pleas go unheard and that is always sad because all life is valued.... Be always safe, Karen

An Orphan's Plea (ET Waldron's Challenge from January) (Poetry) - 2/26/2008 2:37:56 PM
Thank you for taking the challenge, I'm so impressed. You have used it to call attention to what should be one of societies deepest concerns! Yet, it is hardly ever addressed! I applaud how you have made the case ,and pray the plight of orphans will be given more attention in the future,as long as there are people like you who care. Brava! ET

Andy gave me a great idea, Ahna. Howdy! And welcome to the Den. Now we can visit skads! I have lots of memoir poems of my Mom. You're welcome to take a peep-see. "Requiem in Rain" is the most similar to this, but you're right. That woman could do anything she set her mind too, and do it well. And how I wish I'da learned how to make her gravy... --Aunt Char
