There are a couple of different directions that you can take... I would be interested to see where this goes. Don't abandon this! Good start! Now TAKE it somewhere!

Priceless (Article) - 5/18/2003 5:05:18 PM
I must admit I have done this at least once (lol). But the last time I did it I learned the lesson and had several sets of keys made. (lol)

This article reminds me of Hints from Heloise. I locked my keys in my car outside a church in college and my parents refused to help me because I had a bad attitude. Nowadays, my husband has the spare keys for the house, car, etc. and I have spare keys for his car, the house. There are also locksmiths who will help you with lockouts.
I think many folks can relate to this. Great hint.

I saw your kind remarks at my site and hopped over to yours--I'm glad I did. This is a priceless moment you describe--and oh, how I can relate.
I think writers are always two places at once, anyway. My daughters say I have poetry seizures, and I'd have to agree with them. I have been known to get in the shower with my shoes on, and I have locked myself out of my house on many occasions.
You are not alone! And there was a bit of poetic justice with the neighbor!--kayday

YES!!!! We are not alone, after all... smile. Thank you, Jacqueline, thank you.

Hi Jacqueline - I completely agree with your thoughts. Parents are not held accountable enough. At least the best of us can learn from their mistakes. Here's a quote from one of my favourite writers...Anais Nin. Oh, of all gifts, let not the power of dreaming be stolen from you, and you may conquer all things. The power to lift oneself above one's surroundings and to imagine, to create, to visualise, to invent , is a charm against despair and discontent and it can disarm the greatest sorrow. (1922)

Alas, you have spoken my heart once more! Indeed how can you claim to know me, when I am still learning myself? Yes, I know well the healing standing tall upon parchment, due to ink and tears smeared togeather,I remain grateful for the ink, and consider the parchment my friend as well, and yet, the tears that they invoke when they meet and kiss in honesty upon parchment, my, my.

It's been my impression that rage always "means" something, usually something
negative. This is, therefore, rather confusing in some regards. However, there's]
a modicum of truth in it, for sure. Hopefully, it is not autobiographical.
