No Rules: Offbeat Tales of Military Life (Book) - 5/25/2008 9:28:07 PM
R.E., As the daughter of/sister of/niece of/cousin of Veterans, as well as a Veteran, myself, I'd love to read this book - I have a few stories of my own. LOL Got to wait to get some $$, but will order when I can - VA disability doesn't allow for much extras! May be a month or two, but I want this book! (((HUGS))) and love, Karla. Thank YOU for YOUR service!

Something Hairy This Way Comes (Short Story) - 3/22/2009 5:34:10 AM
Know the feeling. We had the "camel spider" in the Gulf and on rotations in Kuwait. It seems they wont send you somewhere unless there are things there other then the enemy to worry about....

How God Found Bubba Lee (Short Story) - 3/22/2009 4:40:19 AM

How God Found Bubba Lee (Short Story) - 1/30/2009 9:55:58 AM
Great story, RE, keep 'em coming. Terry

The Road Mine (Short Story) - 8/22/2008 1:24:05 PM
Having served in Vietnam myself, I found "The Road Mine" to be quite an interesting write. Throughout the story you have appealed to the senses, more particularly those of sight, sound, and smell. I am always ready to hear others relate their experiences with that war from so long ago. Perhaps when you can find the time, you may want to read about my Vietnam experience in a story entitled "Deliverance." Thanks for having shared your thoughts on the Den. I look forward to reading more in the days ahead. David Lee Thompson

A Basic Haircut (Short Story) - 8/2/2008 1:08:52 PM
Good story, Ray. I think all of us vets remember our first military haircut. I still have my ID card and look like Gomer Pyle. Terry

A Basic Haircut (Short Story) - 8/2/2008 7:15:45 AM

Caught in the Draft (Short Story) - 7/30/2008 8:40:34 AM
Exceptionally well written! Yes I felt a draft and the USAF slipped me uner the radar in 1969. I can identify with A-10's because I was in Myrtle Beach in the 80's. Then I went to Egypt and Japan in the 90's At the USAF Academy in 2000. Where does time go? Amn,Sgt,SSgt, Lt. Capt, Maj Pizzamnan

Caught in the Draft (Short Story) - 7/13/2008 12:03:38 PM

A Grandfather's Legacy (Short Story) - 6/14/2008 4:05:55 AM
Hello Friend---standing ovation here----same sentiments, I felt like watching a new Stephen Spielberg movie come to life in front of my eyes. Who said we need a cable TV to be entertained and inspired? I like yours better! Aloha and Best, Myles Saulibio

A Grandfather's Legacy (Short Story) - 6/6/2008 3:59:05 PM
I am a children's librarian-and I think it's a great story--you need a really good illustrator to bring it to life-and it should soar! Wendy

Two Rules of War (Article) - 7/12/2008 3:34:08 AM
Hello R.E. I salute you! War is wasting precious lives and it is very costly. A government that engages in war, long-term wars, will eventually COLLAPSE. History has proven that. Cynthia

Betrayal of Trust (Article) - 7/12/2008 3:29:54 AM
Hello R.E. This article is very well written and very honest. Thank you for your courage in standing up for your fellow soldiers' rights. Vietnam is doing well economically today because of your government's financial assistance. Maybe it could do the same for the MIA and the Katrina victims. Cynthia

Do You Really Support The Troops? (Article) - 6/3/2008 9:37:08 PM
As the daughter of/sister of/niece of/cousin of Veterans, as well as an Air Force Veteran, myself, thank you - YES. Mandatory health care should be a given - GOOD, quality care - the kind the Congressmen and women, our Commander in Chief, receive FOR FREE - instead, we're left with the dregs, the castoffs - SHAME. (((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

The Kindergarten Blues (Poetry) - 5/29/2008 5:18:01 AM
Loved it! I teach first grade and we just watched the kindergarten graduation a few weeks ago as we are now on summer vacation. I could just invision the kids singing this song! You should really try publishing this song if you've not already...or write a small chapbook of poetry/songs for this age. I could see myself using this type of material in my classroom for first grade! I think this is wonderful! Glad I stopped by your den, I'll be back to read more of your work! Very impressed! Blessings from Ky. Joyce B.

The 23rd Psalm (Poetry) - 5/25/2008 11:39:01 AM

The 23rd Psalm (Poetry) - 4/19/2008 10:50:11 AM
Open wounds that will never heal, brave young men put through hell and so many lost for all time, not a postiive legacy until amends are made to all who served and survived.... Be always safe, Karen

The 23rd Psalm (Poetry) - 4/17/2008 7:14:49 AM

The 23rd Psalm (Poetry) - 4/17/2008 4:39:31 AM
Heartbreaking reality - no one knows until they've been there. Sounds like you have. I will not forget - as the daughter of; sister of; niece of; cousin of; and a Veteran, myself, how can I? I would be remiss - Vietnam Vets got a raw deal upon their return (if they made it, at all) and I intend to change that. So: welcome home, soldier, welcome home. Thank you for your service. (((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
