At first I thought how sad, but then I changed my mind. A beautiful piece of work, to remind us to treasure the simple things in life. Thank you for sharing it. Simone

He also has my vote as Jerry Bolton says. Rather have Dagwood than weedheads running now, dishonesty shown by one, bad mouthing by another, oh who do you vote for as the proper person to put in to run our country safely and actively proper.

Little wild flower bouquets always made my Mother's Day. She loved clover and dandelion bouquets and always put them in water and added them to the center of the table.

You know, this idea shows anyone who thinks common themes cannot be redone because "somebody already did it," goes to show that we as artist's bring ourselves and experiences into our writing and all of us can write on the same topic and they will all be individual jewels- this is a jewel. I love the size 22 line, excellent images and well-written.

He's got my vote . . .

You can bet on it . . . I kept hearing that song, "Send in the clowns" as I read this.

CLOWN (Poetry) - 4/28/2008 2:31:37 AM
Marianna, In a way, each of us is a little like the clown. As Scott says it is easier to hide behind a mask than to face the reality of it all. Excellent poem. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

Weeds are just flowers waiting for some acceptance. Very nice.

I read it twice and could actually visualize this man on the bench and started to feel a little sorry for him. But then he seemed to get by just fine. Don't know what inspired this piece but I really enjoyed it. You have a gift.

CLOWN (Poetry) - 4/27/2008 10:32:24 PM
Great poem. It is how many of us are really as we mask our pain behind a facade and then cry only when no one sees.

Paul is correct of course, about the rhyme and flow, but what I see here is a woman who knows how to communicate with the average Joe . . . I see here a poet who tells a stand-alone story, one you do NOT have to guess what was written after you finish it . . . I see something wonderful in "Vagabond Dreamer."

Marianna, Funny how a weed can spuce up the life of a child and yet touch the depths of our hearts. Peace, Love and God's Blessings Always, Paul.

Marianna, I love the rhyme and flow of your poem. Perhaps we could all learn a thing or two from that Vagabond. Welcome to Authors Den. Peace, Love and Blessings, Paul.

This is so heartwrenchingly sad, but I can feel the hope in it as well. Beautifully done, Marianna! Hugs, Julie
