I Wrote My Memoir to Quiet My Fear (Article) - 12/9/2008 6:33:32 PM
I find this stark, real, and honest. It is very compelling. It amazes me how much similiraty there is with what you describe and my own upbringing (particularly my mother). We did not have a TV, though. Thank you for sharing, Janeen. Kindest regards to you,
Regis

I Believe In Christmas (Poetry) - 12/18/2008 6:56:47 PM
Wonderful poem, full of Christmas cheer and high hopes. The real spirit of Christmas is in loving as the Christ-child did.

Let It Snow (Poetry) - 12/18/2008 6:53:45 PM
Isn't it strange how something so wonderful could have its terrible side, too? I love your first verse, full of fun and distinct characteristics of snow and the excitement it brings.
The second verse is a different story in a hold-your-breath way, waiting, shaking, wanting desperately to make it and failing. I feel so bad for the child you were, having to endure that.
Second verse is so graphic--great job!

Let It Snow (Poetry) - 11/27/2008 7:38:04 PM
There was a great sense of life in this poem, it practically hopped along on the page, a real step back in time, too. I love snowy NY winters, and am looking forward with bated breath to the first snow of the year down here :) I hope soon. Happy Thanksgiving.
Let It Snow (Poetry) - 11/25/2008 3:14:26 PM
Cool and sure does bring back so many memories. We had a coal burning stove and a pull chain toilet that my grandmother had to extend the chain so I could even reach it....
Be always safe,
Karen

Janeen,
Your write is so true. Winter has its ups an downs. I loved it as a child, I don't live near snow anymore, but as an adult with all responsibilities. Happy Thanksgiving.
