Recurring Dream (Poetry) - 12/31/2012 8:00:54 PM
This thing named me,
And there is work to do here
Is why I want to believe
And just that. I must challenge the way, however, beware
and to watch out
For being here, for I cannot stop,
as I could
As my time in a weak soul
Can gasp the void of perpetually.
Ever The Same (Poetry) - 12/22/2012 8:06:05 AM
Which way shall I take the course to my readerís hearts,
What scale and tools do I collect with,
What voyeurís wrap I claim in readiness.
Are the ages of my father come to bear,
Or will be for next generationís benefit:
And for sure hope luck to smile a lot,
Unless I weaken in devotion,
That I harbor this pretext,
Where course is subject to a wanton age.
Gather, flock with us; examine all to beyond:
Valiant person have surpassed our time.

Hi Sam, I've just finished reading all eleven of your poems. I must say that I agree with your comment on your DEN page. You may be a LATE BLOOMER, but you most definitely have BLOOMED!!!! Loved every one of them, you're very talented. I note that it's been quite a spell since you posted. Hope that doesn't mean that you no longer write.
I sent you a note a bit ago, responding to your comments on my website. Hope you received it. Love your work, would love to hear from you. Thanks, your Florida neighbor, Dick

I'm probably too old for this but when I read something like your poem I go all mushy. Loved it and know it comes from the heart. You can't just 'compose' those thoughts.

I have been reading a great book by Jeanette Winterson recently called "Lighthousekeeping" and this reminds me of a passage I just read, and it is true, love lasts always. Lovely work, Susan.

A poetic feast singing art and beauty in composition and contents. A glowing page to enrich The American Fine Letters. The "Faithful Cardinal" lives.
I salute You, Poet.

Painful sadness here. With days gone by, you will smile as that Cardinal stops by, as he carries a sweet memory held always inside.
Warmth and Love to you. Be Well. Carin

Oh, Sam, I love it. Of course, I love Florida in any season (even the summer) but the folks up north just don't get it. We are so much more than a vacation stop-over.

I've always loved new calendars, but also new packets of stationery and new notebooks. They give one a sense of moving forward and anticipating new things. Enjoyed your poem. Cheers! Liz
New Calendar (Poetry) - 12/19/2008 2:21:35 PM
So good. I love a new calendar. It looks like a collection of spaces just waiting for entries. Even though too many boxes are filled with things that are obligations (doctor's appointments and such) there seems to always be room for that special time - birthday -- anniversary -- gathering of friends. I've already filled in a good many days on the January 2009 page and that means I'll be busy and that's a good thing. Thanks for the poetic reminder that life is a series of days made up of hours and minutes. All important.

You are a unique person in your own right and own way. God gave you some talents, maybe you did not put them to use yet. Poetry is a talent and this is readable poetry.
