ode to eecummings (Poetry) - 3/15/2010 3:13:26 PM
I strongly believe that a true poet writes what he wants, expresses in his own way, does not have to fence in his words with perimeters that others invented. I have no problem with people who op to do Haiku, Senrus, Odes, specific rhyme patterns etc but we must lways keep in mind someone invented these and there is no law of poetry...write what you feel. fee

Your angel is adorable, and the poem itself tells the Christmas story in a wonderful way. The last two sentences add a simple statement in an unexpected way to bring us right back to the present day, where God's love is still supreme. Connie

Those Ol' Boots (Poetry) - 11/11/2009 5:36:07 AM
Oh, this is beautifully, powerfully penned: God bless the soldiers who wear those old boots! My low quarters lasted me 10 years. They stunk to high Heaven. Went to visit my twin sister (when she was living in Ohio), phew! She threw them in the incinerator. LOL! She burned my boots! LOL Have another pair of shoes that are almost as comfortable (and almost as stinky). She's ready to throw them out, too. LOL (((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Nobody Won (Poetry) - 9/12/2009 1:40:07 PM
kathy, as usual a great poem...nice to read your work again. if I may comment on "nobody wins a war" Let me remind the people that our Freedom was and has been maintained by blood not words.. We that believe in the freedom we have go willingly into battle for a cause that only comes from the soul and the love of a country that is greater then self. Vietnam Vet

The last line tells the whole story... "Nobody won, nobody won." Cheers and peace, Dan

Nobody Won (Poetry) - 7/1/2009 6:14:22 AM
The realty of war is that young men and women die. Politicians can sugar coat it all they want but that is the sad truth...somebody has to die for someone to win. fee

Nobody Won (Poetry) - 7/1/2009 3:56:47 AM
